The SERVAL is a more recent vehicle that was created by Nexter and Texelis, two businesses that received word from the French military in late 2020 that they had been chosen to receive a new armored vehicle. Though it has many additional features, the fifteen-ton, multi-role armored vehicle SERVAL is comparable to the SCORPION in many aspects.

It is significantly more versatile and has a larger payload than the Scorpion, although it still contains the same electronic core and SICS. In battle zones, the SERVAL is meant to be used in addition to the GRIFFON. The first 364 SERVALs were ordered in January 2021, and Nexter and Texelis are currently testing this armored vehicle.
