The 10″ by 15″ picture was identified as “Preparation to Escape to Egypt” when it was certified. It was painted between 1605 and 1620 by an unidentified artist who collaborated with the renowned Venetian painter Carlo Saraceni. It was astounding how the artwork survived in such fine shape, and it went on to fetch about $28,000 at auction in Hamburg.
