Originally, the Su-30 was an internal program by Sukhoi. It wasn’t until 1996 that the Russian Defense Ministry adopted it for military use. The SM is a special version of the Su-30MKI. Made by Irkut Corporation, the SM is a fourth-generation fighter jet. It has upgrades, including new radar, friend-or-foe ID systems, radio communication systems, weapons, ejection seats, and a 30mm GSh-30-1 autocannon.
