3. $1,200,000 for the Bechstein Sphinx


A duplicate of Bechstein’s original piano, constructed in 1886 for a London show. This piano took 32 months to assemble or 1800 hours of physical effort to create. Greek, Egyptian, and Roman motifs are mixed together and wrapped in golden statuettes on the piano. It is an amazing fusion of magnificence. The Bechstein 212 concert grand piano is located underneath.
