16. Salt and Pepper
Found at: Thrift StoreValue: $5-$10*Lisa Townshend found these unique salt and pepper shakers when she was out shopping, and she knew she had to buy them. The black pepper shaker is shaped like a black bowler’s hat, while the salt shaker is shaped like a yellow hat. Both hat shakers go on a neat little hat stand, which you can place on your table.

Salt and Pepper @bloodyanne11 / PinterestWhen you purchase an item like this, it’s probably been in other peoples’ kitchens. Make sure that you thoroughly wash anything food-related with soap and water before adding it to your home. The estimated value of these shakers is $5-$10.
17. Wurlitzer Organ
Found at: GoodwillValue: $10,000*Redditer @MaleCra posted an amazing story about finding way more than he bargained for when he went to Goodwill. He was originally searching the thrift shop for a $3 poster frame, but he stumbled upon something much more valuable: a Wurlitzer organ. These organs are priced in the thousands.

Wurlitzer Organ @bricosympa / PinterestHe snagged the Wurlitzer for just fifty cents. Only a few hundred Wurlitzers are in existence today, though nearly ten thousand of these instruments were built between 1910 and 1940. Just thirty-eight theatre organs are still in their original venues in the same condition in which they were built. This is definitely a rare, valuable find.
18. Huge Basket
Found at: Many Hands Thrift Shop (Spencer, Iowa) Value: $50*Many Hands Thrift Shop is a thrift store in Spencer, Iowa, and one person found something that could only reasonably be used for home décor (or perhaps carrying in a bunch of grocery bags at once). The shopper found a giant basket, and she sat in it for scale, to prove how big it was.Huge Basket @boredpanda / PinterestAt 5’9”, she was able to easily fit in the basket. The top of the basket’s handle came up to her shoulder. The basket was so large that it was its own display in the store. Hopefully, she bought it just for the novelty of owning something like it.
19. Cat Lady
Found at: Goodwill Value: $4*The most amazing thing about this photo is that the cat was okay with sitting in a sweatshirt. One woman joked that she “leveled up” in the cat lady world, thanks to a nice find in the Halloween section of Goodwill. Why this cat-carrying hoodie was in the Halloween section, who knows?

Cat Lady @boredpanda / PinterestShe took a picture with her slightly-confused-looking cat ensconced in the hoodie. Brave cat owners who want to try to get their cat to sit in a hoodie like this shouldn’t be sad—you can buy one of these cat pouch hoodies on Amazon from KITTYROO for $32.99.
20. Baby Stuffed Shoes
Found at: Thrift Store Value: $25-$30*This puts a new spin on the idea of “baby steps.” You never know what you’re going to find when you’re poking around a thrift store, especially when it comes to clothes. You could find red bottom heels, priced at nearly $1,000, for cheap. Or, you could find…well, this.

Baby Stuffed Shoes @quicetopia / PinterestThese appear to be clear-heeled black shoes with tiny baby dolls in the platform between the heel and the shoe. The little baby dolls don’t look tortured, thankfully, though they are, strangely, nude. We’re not sure what type of art statement this “shoemaker” was trying to make (nor do we know if the shopper bought these baby step shoes).
21. Knee Support?
Found at: Drug StoreValue: $1*One discount drug store was selling braces for under $1 (for a two-pack, nonetheless), though it didn’t seem to check the box on these Assured ankle braces. The braces are labeled “knee support,” though the front cover of the Assured product clearly shows someone wearing an ankle brace.

Knee Support? @kcanevari / PinterestAs one commenter said, “Who cares” what body part it supports, when it costs less than a dollar per brace. Compression ankle braces can sometimes help to soothe pain, though something this cheap probably won’t suffice. According to Very Well Fit, the best overall ankle brace of 2020 was the ASO Ankle Stabilizer by Med Spec ($23.99).
22. Pink Jacket
Found at: GoodwillValue: $6*One Goodwill shopper couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw this fancy, pink-sequin jacket. According to his post, he didn’t think it was even a men’s jacket until he saw the label saying “Men’s sequin jacket.” He doubted it would fit—until he tried it on, and it “fit perfectly.”

Pink Jacket @boredpanda / PinterestIt was then that he knew that the pink sequin jacket was “coming home” with him. Goodwill charged just $6 for it, and he said he was “sold” as soon as he heard that price. There’s no denying it looks fabulous, and the shopper joked he felt like he “robbed Liberace’s grave.”
23. Pizza Hut Headphones
Found at: GoodwillValue: $5-$10*One Goodwill worker was surprised when she checked in the donation bin and found something that looked like an item a “1980s teenager” would donate. A Google search reveals that nationwide pizza chain Pizza Hut did, in fact, make Pizza Hut headphones 1986. The headphones were attached to an AM/FM radio.

Pizza Hut @SophiMaximoff / PinterestThis vintage radio-headphone combination was no doubt part of some Pizza Hut promotional. Compared to the pizza chain’s other crazy ideas, like hamburger crust and hotdog-stuffed crust, this one doesn’t seem too bad. Pizza Hut has moved on from radios to shoes: the Pie Tops II, which are a wearable pizza delivery system.
24. Long Lost Cat
Found at: Salvation ArmyValue: $10-$15*This one has a touching, if not a little heartbreaking, story behind it. A woman named Linda Trem loved her twenty-year-old cat, a black and white kitty. The cat passed away, and Trem said she was, understandably, “heartbroken.” Trem went down to the Salvation Army shortly after, when she made an interesting discovery.

Long Lost Cat @pausecafein / PinterestHer cat had unique white-and-black markings. Trem found a painted picture of a cat with identical markings on it. As she said, “I mean, it is her!” She called the picture “amazing” and a “gem,” and, judging from how unique the markings are, it appears to be the universe giving Trem a sign her cat is okay in kitty heaven.
25. Sassy Grandfather Clock
Found at: Thrift StoreValue: $4,300-$5,000*Jessie Bultman was shopping around the thrift stores one day, when they made a very interesting discovery: a sassy grandfather clock. When you think of a grandfather clock, you probably think of something expensive and a little bit boring, but this clock shook it up a little with its sassy stance.

Sassy Grandfather Clock @atmosphericismy / PinterestThough the exact maker of this unique clock is unclear, a craftsman in Vancouver named Judson Beaumont makes this type of whimsical furniture. Beaumont believes that, “If you can draw it…you can build it.” As Bultman said, the sassy grandfather clock is more than a match for the classic “sassy teapot.”
26. Vase Hat
Found at: Fabulous Finds (Port Charlotte, Florida)Value: $10-$20*Fabulous Finds is a resale shop located in Port Charlotte, Florida (4265 Tamiami Trail, for those who are interested in stopping by). You can find pretty much anything there, including this vase that turns into a hat. You might not have thought the two items could be combined, by Fabulous Finds proved that assumption wrong.

Vase Hat @waracazara / PinterestApparently, the store workers there didn’t know it was actually a hat until one shopper pointed out that you could press down on the top to flatten it into a chic straw hat. Hat or vase? It all depends on your perspective, it seems.
27. Udderly Adorable Stool
Found at: Salvation Army (Tasmania, Australia)Value: $5*Belle Joyce was shopping around a Salvation Army in Tasmania, Australia, when she saw a black-and-white, cow-printed stool. Joyce said that she thought, “Argh, cute chair,” but she was in for a surprise when she flipped the stool upside down. The cow-printed chair came with an addendum: little pink udders under the stool.

Udderly Adorable Stool @ttlazareva / PinterestAs Joyce said, she “giggled for five minutes” when she saw how dedicated the stool-makers were to creating an authentic cow stool. The price is actually pretty good, at just $5. Though this stool doesn’t look large enough for an adult, it’s still too cute to pass up.
28. Sausage Dog Leash
Found at: Charity Thrift ShopValue: $45*Anyone who owns a Dachshund will appreciate this leash, which is perfect for it. The leash looks like it’s made of hotdogs, which works well with the idea of a wiener dog. As the thrift store shopper said, the leash is “the oddest, but most perfect” lead for their little Dachshund. They found it in a “local charity shop.”

Dachshund Leash @Ololontey / PinterestIf you want one, you can find it on Etsy for $45. The “Hot Dog Dachshund Sausage Link Leash” is made by Red Wagon Wieners, and it has a 5/5-star review. There’s even a cute photo of a Dachshund next to it on the Etsy website.
29. The Miracle of Life as Depicted By Safety Pins
Found at: Goodwill Value: $5*Well, considering how graphic some of the “Miracle of Life” diagrams were during school sex ed, this one isn’t too bad. One person, whether seriously or, we hope, as a joke, decided to depict conception and birth using a rather unlikely art material: safety pins.

Safety Pin Art @Pinner62764345 / PinterestThere’s a lot you can do with safety pins, but even this seems a little unexpected. However, if you’re a sucker for home goods, especially family-oriented ones, a little modern art depiction like this could be right up your alley. The artist, for now, is unknown.
30. Clams Playing Poker
Found at: Thrift StoreValue: $15*We’ve all seen the painting of dogs playing poker, but clams playing poker is something else. This diorama, featuring four googly-eyed clams enmeshed in a serious poker game with one penny at stake, is yet another eclectic, yet oddly cute collectible to come from a thrift store.

Clams Playing Poker @buzzfeed / PinterestThe diorama was posted on Reddit, where reactions ranged from “Where can I find this?” to “????” A Google search reveals similar dioramas costing around $15, which is amazing, as we can’t believe that more than one person had the idea to create a detailed, intricate sculpture of clams playing poker.
