“Get Lucky”

Televisa MonterreyLet’s face it: all news anchors have a hard job – and that includes the meteorologists! No matter what happens behind the scenes, reporters, anchors, and the like need to always remain professional. However, occasionally, the producers and crew need to have just a little fun to blow off some steam.Mexican weather woman and model Yanet Garcia is known for wearing tight, revealing clothing while reading the daily forecast for channel Televisa Monterrey. While wearing a particularly short dress, producers selected the very suggestive Daft Punk song “Get Lucky” as Garcia’s exit music. However, instead of getting angry at the prank, the meteorologist could not help but crack up. Garcia handled it like a true star, blowing a kiss at the camera as she laughed. What a good sport!

Overly Excited

It’s happened to the best of us: we get a little too excited and, in a moment of passion, do something we later regret. For Roxana Vancea, a Romanian meteorologist, it happened when she decided to wear a bodysuit just one size too small. Everything was okay until she started jumping up and down in excitement, while discussing the great weather coming up over the weekend. That’s when Vancea’s top shifted ever so slightly – but enough for viewers to see more than they were supposed to!Antena 1 TV Thankfully, Vancea’s employers, news channel Antena 1 TV, understood it was all a big mistake. The weather girl kept her job and now has nearly half a million followers on Instagram and a budding modeling career. So, it all worked out in the end!

A Little Cold In Here

It’s nearly impossible to check that everything is perfect before going live on air. Just ask meteorologist Jacqueline Bennett of channel KRON 4 in San Fransisco. In her dressing room on October 17, 2010, Bennett thought the cute blouse she had picked out would look great on television. Unfortunately, she had not considered the combination of the cold studio and very bright camera lights. The two together made her shirt nearly see-through!KRON 4 While the internet may have thoroughly enjoyed Bennett’s slip-up, she never let it get her down. She continues to report the weather to Americans nationwide, now for Spectrum News 1.

One Mean Prankster

While everyone has to deal with interruptions, this news reporter had to deal with the worst kind of all: a pranky teen. Pranksters are always around, ready to mess up things, especially when you’re reporting news live from the field. This news reporter was broadcasting live from Washington Square Park when, out of nowhere, a random young man ran up and pantsed him in front of all the live viewers!FailureLounge/YouTube Unfortunately, in an instant, this news reporter found himself living everyone’s worst nightmare. He even tried to chase after the prankster, but found it difficult to walk with his pants down!

The Surprise Guest

KTLA has had to deal with quite a few uncomfortable drop-ins over the years. For example, when Wendy Burch did a report on Los Angeles’ recent bid to host the Olympics, a man decided to creep up behind her and stand uncomfortably close. However, believe it or not, Burch did not even notice what was happening behind her back! The Flip Side/YouTube When she finally turned around, Burch turned around and screamed in terror. After she did, the strange man ran off, never to be seen again. Thankfully, Burch was fine and even laughed the incident off. But really, dude? Not cool!

Hey, Put This On

For some strange reason, everyone really seems to care what their local weather woman wears every day. Especially KTLA Meteorologist Liberte Chan! One day, the weather woman was simply doing her job when one of the producers handed her a sweater on air.Roger Licup/Youtube As one would, while still live, Chan asked him why she needed to put on the sweater. “We’ve been getting a lot of emails,” he replied. Apparently, viewers did not think Chan’s black dress was appropriate for the morning weather. After putting on the cardigan, the weatherwoman said she looked “like a librarian.” Still, Chan apologized if she offended anyone and also promised she wouldn’t wear the dress again!

Feminism Faux Pas

Attorney-turned-Fox News anchor Kimberly Guilfoyle has made her name by sharing her opinions loudly and proudly, even if they will earn her some flack. So, as you might imagine, Guilfoyle had no problem chiming in on a debate about the female constituency on The Five in 2014. Of course, her responses raised more than a few eyebrows, as they usually do…Fox News During the debate, Guilfoyle said that many young ladies today don’t have enough “life experience” to be informed voters. Not only that, but she also said that these young women should just “go back to Tinder” instead of voting in upcoming elections. Needless to say, many millennials and Gen Z-ers did not appreciate the take.

An Adorable Interruption

Let’s face it: while working from home has its perks, it also introduces some elements we can’t control. That’s certainly what Leslie Lopez, a meteorologist at KABC in Los Angeles, learned in early 2021. Lopez felt shocked when an unexpected visitor walked on-screen during her morning weather forecast – her 10-month-old son Nolan!KABC While some weather girls would have been knocked off their game by the surprise, Lopez is a complete pro. Without missing a beat, she picked up Nolan for some camera time, all while joking, “He walks now guys, so I’ve lost all control.” We’re sure that Lopez’s husband, who she says was on “babysitting duty,” is in the hot seat now!

The Sleeping Beauty

In case you are didn’t know, news anchors and television crews work some seriously long hours. Still, like most of us, when at work, they try their best to keep it together. However, on an early morning show of Fox & Friends, Tucker Carlson felt unusually exhausted. As a result, Carlson actually fell asleep during one of the commercial breaks! Even worse, the show returned without waking him!David Parkman Show/YouTube Of course, his co-anchors, as well as the internet, had a good laugh at Carlson’s expense, before waking him up and continuing with the show. Hey, at least they allowed audiences to join in on the fun!

Silly String vs. Powerade

A veteran sports reporter, Fox Sports’ Emily Jones is quite accustom to having Powerade thrown at her during post-game interview. So, in 2017, Jones started coming prepared with silly string to fend off any would-be jokesters. However, soon enough, the reporter learned that even silly string is not enough to stop a determined baseball player. While interviewing Adrian Beltre of the Texas’ Rangers in 2017, two more Ranger players started running towards Beltre and Jones with Powerade bucket.Fox Sports While Jones covered the players in silly string, it did not stop them from dumping the ice-cold sports drink all over the reporter! Incredibly, the true pro she is, Jones simply shook it off like a wet dog and continued the interview.

Ripple Doesn’t Care

There’s a good reason that news anchors and producers rarely like to work with wild animals: you simply cannot control them! For instance, while Canadian news program Global Edmonton thought its story on the Edmonton Humane Society was over, the animals in the studio had different ideas. While weatherman Mike Sobel attempted to give viewers the forecast, Ripple the dog, from the Human Society, just wanted to play!Global Edmonton Ripple, a part mastiff, did not care about the forecast and proceeded to run circles around Sobel as he tried to talk about the weather. Then, when Sobel would not stop, the dog took to jumping on the weatherman! Thankfully, the anchor took it all in good sport, laughing the entire time. The best part of all? Ripple’s performance found him a show just days after his appearance on the Canadian news show.

“Weather” You’re Visible or Not

Of course, transparency is incredibly essential in news media. However, Los Angeles-based meteorologist Liberte Chan took things to a new level when she literally turned invisible to viewers as she talked about the day’s forecast!KTLA 5, Maestro Thaivisa/YouTube In case you can’t tell from the photo above, Chan just happened to wear a dress that blended a little too well with the green screen. Surprisingly, this is not the first time she’s done something like that. You think Chan would learn! Thankfully, a helpful colleague was there to offer her his blazer! By the next go around, the weatherwoman had changed into something a tad more appropriate for the morning weather.

Is She Naked?!

When the weather woman of Australian news program Today Extra, Belinda Russell, walked onto the set on August 22nd, 2020, viewers at home thought she had suffered the worst wardrobe malfunction possible: walking on camera completely naked. However, after their eyes adjusted, viewers realized Russell was not nude. Instead, she wore a bodysuit, entirely flesh colored, that gave the appearance of nudity. Why on Earth would anyone wear such a thing? Well, Russell didn’t have the best answer…Today Extra “I do have my own style and am not your stereotypical weather presenter who wears dresses only, but can see why this outfit has been a little controversial,” Rusell said the very next day. “If it was a different colour, I’m sure it wouldn’t have attracted so much attention and I probably should have checked it in front of the weather wall first.”

An Awkward Kiss

Everything seemed fine as Fox Sport’s Erin Andrews covered the Daytona 500 in Florida in 2013 – until rapper 50 Cent went in for an unwanted kiss! At the time, Andrews was trying to find Danica Patrick when she happened to stumble across 50 Cent. He seemed to be very excited to see Andrews and gave her an unexpected kiss on the cheek. Meanwhile, Andrews turned her head this way and that, attempting to dodge the rapper’s lips.NASCAR/YouTube After hearing a lot of it, 50 Cent later tweeted, “Hey, I wanted to kiss her, so I did.” A few months later, Andrews told her side of the story, taking some of the blame. “It was my fault!” she told Access Hollywood. “I was rushed – none of the drivers were in their spot for the Daytona 500 pit walk.”

The Leg Syndrome

It seems that Fox News anchor Kimberly Guilfoyle simply just cannot stay away from controversy. As one of the famously leggy Fox News anchors, the network always makes sure to highlight Guilfoyle’s legs while live on air. So it’s really no surprise that with all that attention might rile up some of the network’s more conservative viewers.Fox News In fact, Guilfoyle’s famous legs have been known to distract not only the audience, but even her fellow news anchors! Believe it or not, she’s needed to switch to something more modest multiple times while on Fox, due to Twitter comments! Maybe its time to bring in a pantsuit or two!

15 Seconds of Fame

Just like people, it seems dogs cannot wait for their 15 seconds of fame! During a sleepy, late-night newscast, Russian anchorwoman Ilona Linarte felt something very strange underneath her desk. Next, she jumped and screamed, startled by a bark in the middle of her report! As it turns out, an adorable black Labrador retriever had decided to walk under the desk and still the show. The pup even jumped up next to Linarte, nabbing some airtime!Мир 24 Later, Linarte explained that the dog had come with another guest and then got loose. Sadly, it does not seem the canine will co-host again anytime soon. “I actually prefer cats,” Linate said. “I’m a cat lady.”

On To Bigger and Better Things

People could not believe their eyes when Mexican meteorologist Nailé López walked on camera on August 12, 2016. She wore a bright red vest and a pair of very short, revealing brown shorts. As you might have guessed, it caused an immediate sensation online, with a debate raging over the appropriateness of the outfit.MTY TV Like many other young meteorologists, López has actually used her wardrobe malfunctions to her advantage. After the storm her outfit caused online, she decided to use her newfound fame and become a model! While López still reports the weather occasionally, she certainly makes plenty of money from her modeling gigs as well!

Shirtless Dad Cameo

Jessica Lang, who reports for Suncoast News Network in Tampa, recently discovered a new problem while working from home: interruptive parents. While filming a segment for work, Lang’s dad walked into the frame with his stomach out as he put on his T-shirt.SNN/Daily Mail At first, Lang didn’t know why her mother, who was holding the camera, stopped recording. “What did you do, mom?” Then, the anchor turned around and saw her dad standing shirtless behind her. “Dad! Holy cow!” she said with her fists raised in frustration. Later on, Lang posted the clip on her Twitter page, writing, “Work from home they said, it’ll be fine they said.”

Alfonso’s Mistress

If you’re going to do a live transmission from your apartment, it’s probably not a bad idea to let your partner know not to walk through the kitchen half-naked. Especially if it’s your mistress! Spanish reporter Alfonso Merlos went viral for on the internet after a naked woman walked into the frame during a live news segment.El Programa de Ana Rosa Unfortunately, the mystery woman looks nothing like Merlos’ wife! The viral video ignited a media firestorm in the Spanish tabloids, many of which had recently reported on Merlos and his wife’s very public breakup. After the incident, Merlos publicly apologized -on El Programa de Ana Rosa. He admitted that his “attitude has not been correct” and said that he didn’t mean to hurt his ex-wife!

Making A Splash

Most of you have probably heard of “making a splash” before, but nothing quite like this. BBC sports anchor Mike Bushell has made plenty of errors before, as any news presenter has. But he honestly thought nothing could go wrong when he interviewed five English Commonwealth Games swimmers about their recent victory in Australia. In fact, Bushell felt so confident that he decided to conduct the interview from inside the pool! Unfortunately, things did not go as planned…BBC Once he walked into the pool, Bushell only had time to get out the word “congratulations” out before he took a wrong step. A moment later, the sports presenter was wholly submerged in the pool! With his microphone ruined and his clothes soaking wet, Bushell could not even send it back to the news anchors in the studio. Needless to say, the interview was cut short.

An Unexpected Turn of Events

Everything started off normally at the beginning of this CNN segment. News anchor Poppy Harlow, who was pregnant at the time, was live, discussing the war against ISIS with reporter Becky Anderson. Suddenly, Harlow’s speech started to slow, then slur. When she began having trouble breathing, CNN cut to commercials, leaving audiences on the edge of their seats!Inside Edition Thankfully, Harlow later revealed she was ok. “For all of you on Twitter who are asking if I’m ok, thank you so much, I got a little hot, and I passed out for a moment, I’m fine, we’re going to take a quick break, and we’ll be right back,” Harlow told viewers when she returned.

Hiding In Plain Sight

When ABC 7 anchor Marc Brown started reading the news one night in the late ’90s, everything seemed fine. That was until he caught a glimpse of the sketch of a wanted rapist and realized, as many viewers did, that the drawing looked more than a little bit like Brown himself! More than a few at home wondered if the criminal wasn’t hiding in plain sight!ABC 7 News/YouTube Of course, in reality, Brown had nothing to do with the crime. It was just a simple coincidence! However, that did not stop this from becoming one of the most famous, and funniest, anchor photos of all time. Even today, this iconic news report is used as a meme all around the world.

The Perfect Perch

Many people think local news is for the birds, not providing much more than simple entertainment. And San Diego news station KFMB did not do much to change this perception when they had a little animal snafu on air. Anchor Nichelle Medina was simply reporting on an up-and-coming addition to the San Diego Zoo when one of the guests decided to waltz on-air, unannounced. And that guest was none other than 10-year-old Sophie, a scarlet ibis.KFMB San Diego Incredibly, Sophie flew right into the live shot, almost taking out one of Medina’s eyes, before perching ontop her head. Then, just moments later, it took off again, this time in the direction of Medina’s co-anchor, Eric Kahnert. Thankfully, after another few seconds, the animal trainer managed to gain control of the bird. But with inch long sharp talons, this situation could have turned nasty!

Dad, We Want to Say Hi!

When WCBS meteorologist Lonnie Quinn set up a green screen in his home after coronavirus, he believed he had thought of everything. However, he never expected his two daughters to interrupt his segment! Even though Quinn tried to continue forecasting the weather, Savy and Lily simply wouldn’t leave! “I’m staying with Dada,” Savy said at the time. “This is going south quickly,” Quinn replied.Inside Edition/YouTube While Quinn worried the segment was a disaster, it soon became a massive hit! You see, he’s not the only one struggling to keep his children entertained amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The segment even made its way to CBS This Morning, where host Anthony Mason praised Quinn. “Everyone loves love,” Mason said.

Charissa Thompson’s Direct Hit to the Eye

While she might be making even more on Fox Sports now, Charissa Thompson first got her start back on ESPN in the early 2000s. Eventually, she worked her way up to becoming the co-host of SportsNation along with Marcellus Wiley, where she stayed until she departed the network in 2013. However, before she left, Thompson gave us one of the best news anchor bloopers ever!Kathy Hutchins/Shutterstock, Dannys Uncanny/YouTube “Well, the best thing about this show is not taking yourself too seriously,” Thompson prefaced the blooper. Then, SportsNation cut to a behind-the-scenes clip where someone nailed Thompson right in the eye with a paper ball! And, from the look on her face, it looks like it must have hurt a bit!

Hello?!

TV news transitions can prove particularly challenging. Without the proper notice, a presenter or weatherman can be live without even knowing it! Which is precisely what happened in 2018, when technical issues forced the BBC to cut to meteorologist Tomasz Schafernaker early. Sadly, it appears no one let Schafernaker in on the glitch.BBC After loudly asking, “Hello?!” a few times and receiving no response, Schafernaker thought was he was off air. He had no idea thousands were watching him wander off-screen, pick at his nails and clothing, and even become frustrated at the lack of communication at play. Even meteorologists have off-days!

Technical Difficulties

In 2017, the BBC had one of the biggest news blunders of all time. Not only that, but it occurred to a presenter of over 25 years, Hugh Edwards, on one of the channel’s biggest shows: BBC Nightly News at 10. When millions of viewers from all around the world tuned it, they were treated to one of the longest technical glitches in TV history.BBC For nearly three minutes, which is quite a while on live TV, a technical fault bombarded viewers with random video clips broken up by the loud “Breaking News” announcement. Every so often, the program would cut to Edwards, who sat silently at the news desk, looking over his notes. According to Edwards, he had no idea anything was going on. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, the presenter started the show, as if nothing happened.

Criminal Rodents

During a very serious segment about the disappearance of a sixteen-year-old girl named Molly Bish, Channel 3 meant to display a photo of the man that authorities suspected to have perpetrated the crime. Unfortunately, as you can see, that did not happen. While Rodney Stanger was indeed the suspect, Channel 3 accidentally put on a picture of a hamster instead!Internet Epicness/YouTube While most of us would have laughed for hours on end, the news anchor managed to keep calm. “Well, no, this is not Rodney Stanger obviously,” she quickly said, without a hint of joking. Then she promised they would re-show Stanger’s picture later on, which they did.

The Push Heard Around the World

According to many in the business, KEYT 13’s John Palminteri is one of the nicest guys in the shark-eat-shark ranks of broadcast news reporters. Unless you decide to mess with his live shots, that is! And one young Santa Barbara resident learned that the hard way when he tried to photo-bomb one of Palminteri’s live reports.KEYT 13 As you can see in the picture above, Palminteri wasn’t about to have it. As soon as the young man stepped into frame, the anchor gave him a hard shove, sending him flying. Hey, that’ll show him not to mess around with reporters! We just hope he wasn’t too hurt!

Viewer Schools Weatherman

A hurricane in the United Kingdom? It sounds impossible, but it nearly happened. It all started back in 1987, when meteorologist Michael Fish delivered his daily weather report. “Good afternoon to you all today,” he began. “Apparently a woman rang the BBC and said she heard that there’s a hurricane on the way. Well, if you’re watching, don’t worry, there isn’t!” And, technically, Fish was correct. What was later called the Great Storm of 1987 was not a hurricane – it was a cyclone.BBC However, British residents cared little about the technicality. It certainly seemed like a hurricane when winds of over 100 mph battered and devastated the nation, causing more than 1 billion pounds in damage and claiming 19 lives. Some claimed that had Fish been less casual with his weather report, people may have been more prepared. So later, Fish issued an apology, live on air.

Not Home Alone

Working from home in coronavirus takes a little getting used to. Just ask Melinda Meza, an anchor for Sacramento’s KCRA 3, who accidentally filmed her husband naked in the shower while working from home! One morning, Meza streamed from her bathroom, as she did a live story about hairstylists demanding to get back to work.Daily Mail, KCRA 3 However, Meza did not realize that the audience could spot a naked man exiting the shower. The person seen in the background is presumed to be her husband, Mike de Lambert. But, since the broadcast, neither Meza nor KCRA 3 have commented on the incident. Still, that didn’t stop the video from going viral online!

Too Late To Put On Pants!

What do you do when you don’t have enough time to throw on pants before a big interview? Well, you do it without pants, of course! When Majid Asfour needed to do an interview with Al-Jazeera on a recent invent in Jordan, he thought no one would notice that he was not wearing pants. In fact, as you can see, on television, no one could! Unfortunately for Asfour, one of his family members snapped a pick and shared it on Twitter.Al-Jezeera, Twitter Afterward, Asfour became yet another reminder for everyone: even during COVID, make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get ready for a meeting. Otherwise, you might be caught with your pants down – or off!

It’s Hot Out There!

Weather reporter Cory McCloskey ran into quite the snafu while reporting on the temperatures in the Phoenix area. Apparently, McCloskey felt very surprised to see that in some cities temperatures were well over 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit and one even as high as 2,960 degrees. Obviously, something was wrong with these numbers!FOX 10 Phoenix/YouTube However, McCloskey realized what was going on and played the obvious technical error well. You see, the reporter commented that he wasn’t technically authorized to evacuate cities though he jokingly recommended to “get out while you still can.” While we can all agree that Arizona is hot, its not quite that hot!

Uninvited Guest

This has to be one of the most famous news bloopers of all time! While Korean expert Robert Kelly was live on air discussing the impeachment proceedings of South Korean president Park Geun-Hye, some uninvited guests came rushing into his room. The guests in question were his two daughters, just looking for a little attention from dad. Isn’t that adorable?BBC News/YouTube However, the story does not end there! In a feat of superhero-like dexterity, Kelly’s wife quickly slid into the room after they entered, grabbed them, pulled them out, and still managed to close the door silently! Afterward, the clip became a viral legend and made the entire Kelly family minor celebrities.

The Blunder Down Under

For those who might not know, Australian news anchor Samantha Armytage is one of the most famous media faces in her home country. However, it was her midsection that was all the focus during one live segment in early 2014. You see, upon returning from an ad break, Sunrise Breakfast viewers curiously found Armytage’s co-anchor, David Koch, grabbing onto his colleague’s waistline.Instagram, News Today “Welcome back everyone, we’ve got a wardrobe malfunction,” Koch announced as Armytage squirmed and studio crew scrambled to give her a hand. Apparently, Armytage’s forceful sneeze had unbuckled her belt and led to a very awkward situation!

Teens Are Doing What?

Many are still unsure if the following blooper was a Freudian slip, misread, or a mess-up at all! Whatever the truth, Virginia’s WDBJ7 Holly Pietrzak earned one of the greatest news anchor bloopers of all-time by accidentally slipping in an “F” bomb where it did not belong. The New Deal/YouTube The news anchor became a viral Internet sensation after saying, “Well, more kids are having f**k – or are having “luck” rather in finding summer jobs.” While Pietrzak calmly continued through her F-word faux pas, the damage had already been done. Thankfully, after an on-air apology the next day, everyone forgave the news anchor. Still, her slip-up is undoubtedly one of the record books!

Exciting Meteorology

Fox59 Meteorologist Jennifer Ketchmark was giving her usual weather report when something completely unexpected happened. While giving her weather report, producers switched to an overlooking natural central Indianapolis, to showcase the beautiful blue sky. However, a rather nasty friend decided to swoop in at the same time. Right as they switched, a rouge hornet attacked the camera lens! Meanwhile, Ketchmark screamed in terror and quickly left the frame.Fox59 News/YouTube After the incident, Ketchmark herself commented that she would most likely end up on a blooper reel on the internet. Well, Ketchmark, you called it! Thankfully, in the end, she managed to pull herself together and finish her segment without further complications.

What Are You Laughing About?

Stephen Grant murdered his wife, Tara Grant, back in February 2007. Everyone agrees: that’s not funny, in the slightest. Right? Well, for one Michigan news anchor, Hema Mullur from KFOX-TV, while the story was not funny, the killer’s mugshot was simply too hilarious for her…MyAnalogTV/YouTube We can’t really blame Mullur after all, just look at those wide-open eyes! To make matters even worse, she had never seen the photo before, making the whole ordeal a total surprise to her. In the end, another anchor had to take over the story. Unfortunately, Mullur’s laughter could still be heard while the other anchor described the gruesome murder!

The Confession

Alaskan news anchor Charlo Greene received worldwide attention for her unexpected on-air confession and sudden resignation. At the time, Green was reporting on a story about cannabis legislation in Alaska and the Alaskan Cannabis Club, a group fighting for legalization. Then, at the end of the segment, Greene announced that she actually owned the Alaskan Cannabis Club!Edibles Magazine, Anchorage Daily News “Now everything you’ve heard is why I, the actual owner of the Alaska Cannabis Club, will be dedicating all of my energy toward fighting for freedom and fairness, which begins with legalizing marijuana here in Alaska. And as for this job, well, not that I have a choice but, I quit,” Greene declared before leaving the set!

Enough of the Kardashians

Working in the news isn’t as fun and exciting as it always seems. More often than not, reporters need to complete stories on things they have no interest in at all. Even worse, they have to report on topics they might not even consider real news. That’s precisely how news anchor John Brown felt about the Kardashian clan one morning. In fact, one morning on Good Day Orlando, he actually refused to talk about them anymore.FOX 35 Orlando/YouTube “I’m sick of this family. It’s a non-story. Nobody cares about this family anymore,” Brown shouted, during a story on Kylie Jenner naming her new rabbit Bruce. Unsurprisingly, the video of his rant went viral, with many agreeing with his take on the family.

I Feel The Earth Moving

A journalist’s job can often become quite dangerous, fast – even inside a television studio! Once again, KTLA anchors found themselves interrupted, this time by an unusually strong earthquake. The moment the entire building starts to shake, one of the anchors yelled: “we’re having an earthquake” and ducked for cover on live TV.KTLA 5/YouTube However, while it seems funny in retrospect, this was absolutely the right move! In the video, you can see the camera shake and the overhead light swing from side to side. It must have been terrifying! While everyone was happy that the anchors were safe, it did not take long for the likes of Jimmy Kimmel to mock the male anchor on late night.

Putting Your Reporters to Sleep

We all have long days at work. However, KSCH12 reporter Deedee Sun must have felt particularly exhausted while reporting out in the field about a recent snowstorm. Unfortunately, just as Sun was letting out a huge yawn, the weather feed cut to her field report, broadcasting this sleepy moment to the thousands watching!Deedee Sun/Facebook In the studio, Meteorologist Ross Janssen joked, “Deedee looks a little tired out there, doesn’t she?” when the feed cuts to her. Sun, not letting the moment get her down, posted a video of the incident on her own Facebook feed. She joked on her post that, “Someone accidentally pushes the right button at just the right time to catch my GIANT yawn hahha!”

Bird Attack

This reporter was right in the middle of covering a story about an infestation of birds when he thought it would be a good idea to walk underneath a tree full of them. Maybe, the birds heard his insulting comment about them being an infestation and unwanted because they were really not happy.toast486/YouTube First of all, a bird decided to poop on his shoulder, which he actually found funny and laughed about. But then, the reporter looked up in the tree, and some flaying faces landed smack dab in his mouth. The reporter’s screams could be heard back in the studio! To be fair, though, it is possible that this news blunder wasn’t real.

Maybe That’s Not A Good Idea

This reporter was apparently trying to add a bit of spice to his segment about the receding water levels in the lake. So he thought it would be a good idea to jump in. Just before jumping, the reporter said that the ground should be completely dry. Well, as you can see for yourself, it was definitely not!NBC 15/YouTube Before long, the reporter found himself knee-deep in the mud while his cameraman and news anchors back at the station had a good laugh off his expense. It was certainly not that easy to get out of this mess! Hey, we can bet he lost his shoes in the ordeal and won’t get creative on a segment anytime soon!

An Awkward Confession

This one may have been just a slip of the tongue, or perhaps it was an accidental confession, but one thing is for sure: this news anchor really embarrassed herself on live air. You see, during a subject of disciplining children, the male anchor asked his colleague if she had been spanked as a child.Viveack Yogeswaran/YouTube Her answer? Well, believe it or not, it was “as a kid, no.” Implying that while she wasn’t spanked as a child, she has at other times in her life. That’s definitely something you don’t want to confess on live air. She immediately realized her mistake and tried to take it back, but it was already too late!

Creepy Capt. Jack

When L.A. reporter Madison Brooks went to Hollywood Boulevard to report on Breaking Bad’s finale screening, it seemed like an ordinary evening of interviews. Unfortunately, the anchor ended up meeting a few stars that she never really wanted to meet. You see, a man dressed in costume as Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean decided to invade Brooks’ personal space. The Huffington Post While filming, the creepy Captain Sparrow sneaked up behind the reporter and sniffed her hair. As you might imagine, she screamed and then yelled: “Get off of me!” Thankfully, someone pulled him off-screen, and Brooks even managed to send it back to the anchors in the studio.

Who’s That Reporting?

WLOS ABC 13’s Justin Hinton must have seemed very strange when he did his live report on Facebook. While streaming a live special broadcast on Facebook, describing a recent snowstorm, viewers noticed unusual effects on Hinton’s face. You see, Hinton was using Facebook Live for the broadcast, and he accidentally left the Mystery Mask filter enabled! Unfortunately, Hinton didn’t realize what had happened until reading the comments pouring in from viewers on Facebook!John Le WLOS Reporter/Twitter In the end, everyone actually enjoyed the broadcast. Afterward, WLOS ABC 13 shared the video with the caption “When you’re trying to do a serious Facebook Live about the weather and you accidentally tap the Mystery Mask filter.”

Buried By Snow Plow

So far, we’ve seen news anchors take some serious hits, but nothing will take away your breath quite like this one. One morning, Fox29 reporter Steve Keeley found himself giving viewers a closer look at the icy conditions in Woodstown, New York, when a snowplow came too close. Much too close.NewsBloopers101/YouTube Just as Keeley turned around to see the snowplow, a massive wave of snow knocked him to ground, burying him. Still, he proved his point: stay inside. Later, his co-anchor, Chris Murphy, praised him for “truly being stronger than the storm.” Meanwhile, Keeley explained that while it might look bad, it wasn’t. “Thanks for all well wishes it just looks like it hurt but didn’t at all so it’s cool to have a good laugh on us,” he wrote on Twitter.

Spider-Man Drops the Ball

Spider-Man normally swoops in to save innocent people, but this time he failed to catch the damsel in distress! During a stunt in Times Square ahead of New Year’s Eve celebration in 2013, the superhero dropped Good Morning America reporter Sara Haines as she pretended to faint in his presence, expecting him to catch her, of course! The Daily Mail However, Haines ended up falling flat on her back! But, despite falling smack into the ground, thanks to the bumbling superhero, Haines had a great sense of humor about the incident and simply laughed it off. Afterward, she even gave Spider-Man a huge hug!

Dog Interrupts Work From Home

Whoever thinks working from home is easy has never been a news anchor! It wasn’t so sunny for meteorologist Scott Connell when his dog Maple kept interrupting his daily weather report. Even though the anchor has, like many of us, adjusted to the “new normal,” it seems his dog Maple has not! So, Maple made her news debut in mid-April when she barked over Connell’s weather reporting.Inside Edition/YouTube For a while, everything seemed fine. Then, two weeks later, Maple was back at it again! After recording several attempted takes, Connell had to stop recording to have a little chat with Maple. “Maple leave the cat alone… alright let’s go. Take 300.” “She’s at it again. She’s not happy,” he said in the many outtakes. Fortunately, Connell eventually managed to record one solid take for the newscast, while his producer got a good laugh from the rest of the footage!

Ice Skating For The First Time

This news reporter had a very painful day at the office when she face-planted onto the ice on a live broadcast. M.A. Rosko was ice skating – or trying to – when strong winds overtook her and made her lose her balance. While Rosko desperately tried to stay upright, she landed on the ice with a sickening thud! For anyone who’s not fallen on ice before: it really hurts!YouTube Unfortunately, we’ll never quite know how much it hurt. You see, the channel quickly cut back to the anchors in the studio, and Rosko never addressed the incident again. She’s still working today, though, so it must not have hurt too bad.

Animals Do What They Want

Even when a news reporter isn’t handling an animal directly, wild animals will often find a way to interrupt a news feed. Fox 40 News Sabrina Rodriguez was shooting a report on the Lodi Grape Festival when an unexpected friend showed up for their 15 minutes of fame. Believe it or not, a cheeky monkey seized his chance and clamped his paw on her right breast!FOX 40 News Ever the professional, Rodriguez carried on with her segment and even attempted to joke about it! “He’s trying to cop a little bit of reel.” Despite Rodriguez’s efforts, Mickey still refused to remove his paw! So, the anchor quickly signed off, presumably to have a stern word with the animal handler!

Overnight Sensation

Sometimes, all it takes is one eagle-eyed viewer to expose a blooper that no one else noticed. Mexican weather girl Susana Almeida did not feel anything had gone wrong when she presented the morning weather for 4 Televisa Guadalajara on March 5, 2016. However, the brunette meteorologist failed to notice that she was having a bit of a pants mishap, showing off a bit more than she intended to the audience.4 Televisa Guadalajara Unfortunately for Almeida, a sharp-eyed viewer noticed, recorded the segment, and uploaded it to YouTube. Within just 24 hours, it received more than 37,000 views! Almeida took the wardrobe malfunction in stride and returned to work the very next day – albeit with less tight pants.

Keep It On The Field!

Everything seemed fine as reporter Laura Rutledge worked the sideline of a University of Georgia vs. University of Massachusetts football game in 2018. However, in the blink of an eye, Rutledge took a tough blow as Georgia player Prather Hudson slammed into her, sending her to the ground. Thankfully, the reporter was not seriously injured, laughed it off, and even kept on reporting!ESPN Not one to miss a beat, Hudson tweeted an apology to Rutledge after the game, writing: Hey @LauraMRutledge really sorry I knocked you down, but… I can pick you up at 7.” Sadly for Hudson. His proposed date did not happen. If you didn’t know, Laura Rutledge is married to professional baseball player Josh Rutledge of the Boston Red Sox.

A Trick Gone Wrong

There’s nothing worse than messing up at work. Well, maybe messing up at work twice! In 2014, Four Seasons of Toronto Wine Director Emily Walker went on a local Canadian news program to talk about upcoming holiday events at the hotel. While there, she was also meant to demonstrate how to use a knife to saber-open a champagne bottle. But things did not go according to plan! On her first attempt, Walker shattered the bottle, soaking both her and host Steve Darling with champagne.Global News Most people would quit at this point – but not Walker! Instead, she tried again. Sadly, once again, the knife hit the bottle too early, and it exploded, covering both Walker and Darling in foam and wine. Needless to say, the show did not invite the Wine Director back.

A Few Too Many

You probably expected plenty of local news anchors to have some bloopers, but someone like CNN’s Don Lemon? Probably not. However, during the network’s 2017 New Year’s Eve coverage, Lemon decided to forgo professionalism, loosen up, and have some fun. A bit too much fun, most would say.CNN Instead of doing his job, Lemon decided it would be more fun to drink. In fact, at one point, Lemon’s co-host, Brooke Baldwin, even told him, “the tequila is, like, emitting from your pores!” Afterward, viewers had to endure a very awkward conversation about whether Lemon should pierce his ear or nipple. Somehow, mostly thanks to an apology the next day, Lemon did not lose his job!

That’s One Giant Spider

One day back in 2012, Global British Colombia meteorologist Kristi Gordon was giving her regular morning weather report to western Canada. After explaining to viewers that they could expect a normal week, Gordon continued on, having the producers cut to a live shot of the Vancouver Harbor. That’s when a creepy crawly quite literally entered the picture. When the live shot came on screen, a giant spider hung over Gordon’s head!Global BC As it turns out, a spider had made its home above the camera, sitting perfectly in shot. “Oh, that is so creepy!” Gordon screamed before running off-screen. Meanwhile, her co-workers could not help but laugh at the weather woman’s terrified reaction!

What Happens in the Netherlands

Martje Oesterholt, a Dutch reporter, wanted to make a splash in her interview with the mayor. Unfortunately for her, that’s precisely what happened. Apparently, the two were filming a promotional video for an Easter Festival when the anchor suddenly lost her balance while leaning against the side of the boat.Andre can der Zee/YouTube Even though Oesterholt desperately tried to hold on to the rope next to her, she eventually ended up falling into the water. What’s more, there was a mass-confusion around her as the mayor attempted to use his mayoral chain to pull her back while the sound guy tried to fish the anchor out with his boom mic! Thankfully, Oesterholt managed to escape the river without injury – just embarrassment!

“Collateral Damage” Sneak Attack

Back in 2018, after the Arizona Diamondbacks enjoyed a superb walk-off win against the Los Angeles Angels, the baseball team could not contain their excitement to the clubhouse. Just ask Fox Sports reporter Kate Longworth! While interviewing player A.J. Pollock, Longworth and Pollock were covered with a game-winning Gatorade shower by two other Diamondback players.Fox Sports Afterward, the Diamondbacks poster a GIF of the incident to Twitter, writing, “Sorry, @KateLongworth. Collateral damage?” While baseball players are quite used to sport drink showers, judging by the look on Longworth’s face, she did not feel too pleased at becoming “collateral damage.” However, true class act she is, she Longworth returned to Diamondbacks stadium the very next night for more post-game interviews!

The Wrong Guy – Literally!

In 2006, Guy Goma was simply a man sitting in the BBC lobby, waiting for an interview for a regular tech position. Meanwhile, Guy Kewney, a British technology expert, also sat in the lobby, waiting to do a live consultation about a recent digital music rights case. So, when a BBC news producer approached Goma and asked him, “are you Guy?” he said yes. Goma had no idea the producer was actually looking for Kewney! Not even five minutes later, Goma found himself on live TV, being interviewed by Karen Bowerman!BBC As you might imagine, Goma had no idea how to answer the questions that Bowerman threw at him. He must have thought it was the strangest interview ever! Still, Goma managed to predict that more people than ever would start downloading music – and he was right! Sadly, he did not earn the IT job he wanted.

A Cicadas Attack

KSNT news anchor Katya Leick was attempting to report a segment from the top of a tank at Fort Reilly Army Base when something almost made her quit the television game altogether. As she spoke to the audience, a swarm of giant cicadas attacked, buzzing all around her. Still, Leick did her best to stay calm and ignore the huge bugs – until one landed on her face!KSNT News In an instant, Leick began screaming, dropped the mic, and tried to get away. While she tried to record the segment several more times, she eventually gave up, saying, “ok, nope, not doing it.” Hey, we would have high-tailed out of there too!

Drilled by Baseball

People often say that baseball is a game of inches, and Sophia Minnaert learned this first hand in 2013. After all, if Minnaert, a sideline reporter for Fox Sports, had stood just a couple of inches to one side, she would not have endured her scare with stray baseball.WGNA The incident took place just before the top of the third inning of the Pirates’ 5-2 win over the Brewers. Minnaert was about to present the broadcast’s Twitter poll, when, out of nowhere, a stray ball hit her right hand, sending her microphone flying and leaving her in complete shock! However, pro that she is, Minnaert quickly regained her mic and even finished the segment!

The Goatman

Sometimes you can’t help but laugh at something funny, even when it’s unprofessional. When CTV News Winnipeg anchor Maralee Caruso started reading a story about a man who lived as a goat for several days, she could not believe the words coming out of her mouth. “You can’t make this stuff up,” Caruso said as she relayed the story of a Winnipeg man who won a Nobel Prize for living on all four amongst goats for days on end. As she told the tale, Caruso started laughing and could not stop.CTV News Winnipeg Meanwhile, as Caruso continued to chuckle, her laughter spread to her co-anchors, who also struggled to keep it together. In the end, Caruso simply had to move on to the next story without finishing. Maybe laughter really is infectious!

Flying Pumpkins (and Microphones!)

Ever embarrass yourself at work and wish it would go away? Well, so did CTV Toronto weather anchor Tom Brown! In 2011, Brown was reporting live from the polar bear exhibit at the Toronto Zoo. There, animal keepers asked the weatherman if he would like to toss the bears one of their favorite treats: pumpkins. Sadly, Brown completely missed the exhibit on his first two throws! Then, on his final throw, he accidentally threw both his third pumpkin and his microphone into the icy, polar bear filled water!CTV Toronto While Brown wanted to forget the entire incident, his team simply would not let him. Throughout the years, they have teased the anchor by replacing his weather map with the video of his fateful pumpkin throws.

A Gatorade Shower

The Washington Nationals decided to initiate MASN field reporter Julie Alexandria to the team. How? Well, by giving her the postgame Gatorade bath! That’s right. Following a Nats win in 2013, Alexandria interviewed pitcher Gio Gonzalez and soon found herself the target of a Gatorade drenching of her own!Zimbio, spo hwg/YouTube Fortunately, Alexandria took the ordeal like a champ! However, the very next day, she took a second Gatorade shower after another Nationals win. This time around, Alexandria was interviewing Jordan Zimmerman after pitching a one-hitter in a 1-0 victory against the Reds when she was drenched one again! Thankfully, after the second drenching, the team felt she was finally one of their own.

Unexpected Guest

Reporter Brittney Kleyn was getting ready for her live broadcast in front of the local courthouse when she received quite an unexpected visit. Just then, a rogue parrot decided to land on her shoulder! Kleyn felt so shocked about the unexpected guest that she began to scream in terror! Of course, the anchor thought she was under attack!ABC News, On-Demand News/YouTube Luckily, the cameraman, after having a good laugh, came to the rescue. After a moment, he was able to remove the parrot from its new perch. The parrot, named Lola, turned out to be a lost pet. Thankfully, because of the viral video, Lola’s owner was able to reunite with her. We love happy endings!

“A Catfight, But It Really Isn’t”

Reporter Michelle Beadle (left) doesn’t like peer Erin Andrews (right), and she’s not shy about it. In 2013, Beadle appeared on the Dan Patrick Show, where the former NBC Sports Network host discussed her feeling toward Andrews, a Fox Sports star.Kathy Hutchins/Shutterstock While Beadle tried to downplay the beef saying it’s “no big deal,” she then told Patrick she wouldn’t even say hello to Andrews if she walked in the room! When Patrick asked her if she would say hello to Andrews, Beadle answered, “I’m not that great at that. Probably not. We’ve been in an elevator before and it was awkward…We don’t all have to like each other. It’s not that big of a deal.” Hey, you have to admire her honesty!

Bad Zanta

Santa is supposed to be a force for good, but street entertainer David Zanaci has other ideas. He often portrays a loud, obnoxious, now-infamous version of Santa he calls “Zanta.” Around Toronto, the muscled man is known for running around saying “yes, yes, yes” and “Merry Christmas.” Then, in 2014, he took it a little too far. While Global BC reporter Mark Carcasole did a report from the streets of Toronto, Zanta barged into the shot and started yelling.Global BC “Google Zanta! Google Zanta!” the entertainer screamed. Thankfully, even as Zanaci continued making noise while security led him away, Carasole kept his cool. He finished his report like nothing happened, only saying at the end that he “knows Zanta well.”

Swept Off His Feet

Weathermen and women often receive some of the worst assignments in the newsrooms. After all, they regularly need to head into heavy rain or freezing snow. So, when Global News weather reporter Rob Leth had to cover the opening of an intertube sledding attraction, he thought it would be a walk in the park. But that’s not the way it would turn out!Global News After Leth finished his report, he ended his segment with an innertube toboggan race. Unfortunately, the children were having too much fun and did not keep their eyes ahead. One of the racers hit Leth head-on, sending him head over heels! Thankfully, Leth seemed to walk the flip off, even managing to sign off before collapsing into the snow.

Some Unscripted Canoodling

Sometimes, a news anchor can blame the teleprompter for their bloopers. However, sometimes, its a flubbed adlib, and the anchor can blame no one but themselves. Like this Canadian news anchor who said awkwardly segued into the weather forecast by saying, “maybe we can canoodle before you get into it” to his female co-anchor. Needlessly to say, she felt shocked and instantly rejected the offer.Adam Lee/YouTube In the subsequent discussion, the anchor confessed that he apparently though the definition of “canoodle” meant to chit-chat, not snuggle. Uhuh, sure, buddy. Of course, as the discussion continued, the anchor begged for the segment to be over. “Take it away, get me off-camera,” he embarrassingly pleased.

God, Save The Queen

It’s incredibly important to caption images with the correct banners, especially on the news. After all, plenty of people either come in and out of the room or watch the story without sound. Many rely on the headlines shown during news programs to give them everything they need. So when British viewers saw the words “Sex on the Beach” underneath footage of Queen Elizabeth II, they had no idea what to think.BBC Thankfully, as it turns out, the BBC had simply displayed the wrong headline. In fact, Queen Elizabeth had been on her way to send out her first tweet ever. The “Sex on the Beach” headline, on the other hand, was meant for a story on a local nudist beach.

Insect Invasion

In another case of unexpected animals interrupting live reporting, this Fox 5 anchor was enjoying his assignment at the beach when he suddenly suffered a sizeable flying insect attack. Of course, the reporter’s reaction turned him into an internet superstar. In a theatrical manner, the reported started screaming and flailing about!Random Awesomeness/YouTube After the entire ordeal was finally over, the reporter awkwardly looked at the camera, asking, “Was that live? Are we live? Oh… brother.” The news anchors back in the studio had a good laugh jokingly saying that he was attacked by either a giant bug or “a small drone.”

Turning The Anchor Into A Pig

There’s a strong possibility that there’s some animosity between anchor Hayley Wielgus and the graphic design team of ABC 7, out of Sarasota, Florida. After all, when Wieguls started presenting a story on wild pigs causing destruction in the city, she quickly turned into a pig! At least, that’s what viewers thought!ABC 7 News In fact, the graphics team had simply flashed a picture of a pig over Wielgus, instead of on the left of the screen. Seconds later, the team fixed the image. Meanwhile, Wielgus remained a good sport about the whole thing – at least on air. Still, it does make one wonder if that was an accident or not…

Pride and Peculiarity

In all her years reporting from the street of Los Angeles, reporter Christina Pascucci has become quite accustomed to unwanted attention. However, not even she expected to be screamed at while reporting live from the city’s Pride Parade!KTLA, The World Info Media/YouTube Even though the event normally entails lots of joyous celebration and high-spirited energy, Pascucci became the sole focus of one reveler’s attention. Ironically, Pascucci just happened to be talking about the low number of disturbances at the event when a total stranger jumped into the shot and yelled: “you’re so f* hot!” As you can tell, Pascucci had no idea what to do. Meanwhile, the channel quickly cut back to the studio, but not before thousands in LA heard quite the foul language!

The Unicorn

This WTLV news reporter in the Jacksonville area was covering a story about a fire in a resident’s home when his segment was suddenly photobombed. There are plenty of strange photobombing characters, but this strange, screaming woman in a tutu and unicorn mask might take the cake. And, in case you’re wondering: no, it wasn’t Halloween!Darkuswar96/YouTube Impressively, the reporter managed to keep his cool and successfully finish the segment as if nothing had happened, despite her high-pitched shrieks in unicorn-language. However, many still have one question: was this woman already dressed as a unicorn, or did she see the reported and rush to get a costume? Guess we’ll never know!

Breaking the Silence

You know that the moment once dubbed “The Most Excellent Technical Meltdown in Live Television News History” has to be completely and ridiculously hilarious. What could have possibly been that bad?Scott Jones/YouTube Well, the answer is an entire 19 minutes of live video without any audio whatsoever. That’s right, silence! You see, the crew messed up and silence all but one reporter on the WGN-Channel 9 evening news. Even worse, the team could not manage to determine how to fix it for nearly 20 minutes! During the time, the anchors wrote hysterical messages to the viewers on whiteboards, like the one above.

Fashion Mixup

Tensions started boiling over on Australia’s Nine News Now when all three news anchors showed up wearing white. Upon the discovery, news anchor Amber Sherlock (center) simply would not tolerate it! Believe it or not, she quickly picked on a fight with Julie Snook (left). Unfortunately, she didn’t realize mics were still recording!motbolz/YouTube During a commercial, Sherlock berated Snook for not changing over and over again. In the end, Snook had no other choice but to put on a black blazer but no before threatening to leave the segment altogether. “If it’s an issue, I’ll just jump on out, honestly,” Snook said. “Fine, just jump on out, if that’s what you’d like to do,” Sherlock retorted. While the incident didn’t occur on TV, the footage “somehow” found its way to the internet!

Sometimes Snows Sucks

This Milwaukee weather reporter must have drawn the short stick. As you can see, reporter Angelica Duria needed to give a report in the middle of a snowstorm. Of course, outside, it was freezing cold, and, after a few hours, this reporter simply lost it. So, Duria decided to give the audience at home an all-too-real report. At the same time, she also created one of the greatest news anchor bloopers ever!Instagram, CNN/Youtube “I’ve been here since, what, 3:30 this morning, it is now, I don’t even know what time it is, 9:45. I’m exhausted, I’ve run out of things to say. It is snowing, and it sucks here!” Duria confessed live on air. Fortunately, her honesty was met with laughter and appreciation from both audiences and her producers!

More of a Dog Person

As you might imagine, live television and live animals rarely miss. Just ask WJW Fox 8 news anchor Kathleen Cochrane. During a segment on a couple convicted of animal abuse, producers, for whatever reason, thought it would be a good idea for Cochrane to hold an adorable cat. Well, it was not such a great idea…Fox 8, rmcculloch/YouTube The moment the segment began, the hit started growling and squirming to get away from Cochrane. Then, as she holds on, the cat actually claws the news anchor right in the face! Ouch, that must have hurt! Cochrane ended the segment by saying, “Obviously, I’m not a cat person!”

Grape Stomping Lady

While you probably don’t know Melissa Sander’s name, you probably know her as the Grape Stomping Lady, Grape Fail Lady, Grape Lady, or any other grape-related nickname. For those few not in the know, the names refer to one of the most infamous news anchor bloopers of all time, one that turned Sander into a viral superstar.Brocouncil During a segment for local WAGA in Atlanta, Sander was reporting on an upcoming fair at a winery, one that would include a grape-stomping contest. For the camera, Sander participated in an example of the contest, but decided to try and sneak a few more stomps in after the judge blew his whistle. As a result, she loses her balance and falls face-first on the ground! Just goes to show: cheaters never win!

Freudian Slip

For most of us, only a few people hear our embarrassing word slip-ups. Unfortunately, for Blackhawks’ reporter Susannah Collins, millions heard her “Freudian slip” during the pregame show of the NHL’s team’s first playoff game. You see, the anchor stated that the team had enjoyed a “tremendous amount of sex” during the regular season, when she meant to say “success.”Susannah Collins/Twitter, UltraXryder/YouTube Of course, Collins tried to emend her mistake as quickly as possible, but the flub promptly went viral. Fortunately, the anchor had a great sense of humor about the incident and went to Twitter to comment about it afterward. “Thanks for laughing along with me & my “tremendous” slip, guys. Who couldn’t use a good chuckle every now & then right? #Whopps!” she wrote.

When Laughs Attacks

As you’ve seen, a fit of the giggles can come at any time and almost always create great bloopers. Well, that’s precisely what happened to Australian news anchor Natasha Exelby.10 News First, bermudaviper/YouTube It’s easy to see why Exelby started laughing: the producers did a particularly poor job transitioning between a light story about an attractive Irish adventurer to a tragic tale about dead protestors. Unfortunately, in the end, the exchange went a little something like this: “One protester has been killed and,” Exelby managed to say before she started laughing. “Ten people, including five children, have been killed after a building collapsed…” Afterward, Exelby could not control it, and the station needed to cut to commercial.

No Pants Day

Most of us have lost count of the days we’ve been in quarantine, working from home and forgetting the last time we enjoyed a day outdoors. ABC News reporter Will Reeve certainly has! And, as it turns out, he recently forgot something even more important: his pants. In April, Reeve appeared on Good Morning America for a segment about pharmacies using drones to deliver prescriptions to patients.Room Rater/Twitter However, Reeve, who acts as his own cameraman while broadcasting from home, was positioned so it was clear he had on a suit jacket and shirt – but no pants. Unsurprisingly, viewers quickly took to Twitter to call Reeve out. “I have arrived,” Reeve tweeted back. “In the most hilariously mortifying way possible.”

Giraffe Won’t Take No for An Answer

As any news reporter can tell you: while live television is always challenging, real animals make it so much more so! Sometimes, even an animal as adorable as a giraffe can become wholly unpredictable and make field reporters think on their feet. Just ask Ashley Jacobs!Trendchaser Jacobs was reporting live from the San Diego Safari Park when a baby giraffe decided to get a little too friendly with the journalist. While Jacobs kept trying to push the baby giraffe away from her, it simply refused to stop showing the anchor some love with gentle nuzzles, while also trying to eat her mic! Meanwhile, everyone could hear her co-anchors back in the studio gigging at the unfortunate situation.

F-Bomb Flub

Former WNBC news anchor Sue Simmons became an icon over her decades in the game. For over 30 years, she worked for at the New York Channel 4, appearing on TV screens all over the city almost every day. Not only that, but Simmons has also served as a leading African American figure in the journalism world.albri1home/YouTube However, despite her many years of reputable reporting, Simmons has her fair share of news bloopers. Most infamously, viewers once heard her scream “what the f*** are you doing?” at co-anchor Chuck Scarborough as a live news teaser ran. Unfortunately, Simmons didn’t realize they were still live. Thankfully, she apologized for the incident immediately afterward.

Extreme Reporting

Lee Valsvik, an NBC anchor, was reporting live from Minneapolis sports bar Union Bar & Grill when somehow the segment got a little too violent. What’s more, her cameraman thought it would be hilarious to sack the reporter from behind in a mock football play. Well, it wasn’t such a good idea…CaptionThis1/YouTube He slammed into the reporter, and she went flying onto a nearby table, knocking off plates and glasses and knocking over a chair. While she never saw it coming, Valsvik was a good start about the entire ordeal. In fact, she could be heard shouting, “I’m ok!” in the background. Thankfully, the news station later confirmed that she wasn’t injured in the incident.

He Got Sick

Every news anchor can tell you that their first day live on TV is nerve-rocking. For this rookie reporter, the stress, unfortunately, was too much to handle. What’s more, it was A.J. Clemente’s first day on the job at Bismark, North Dakota’s KFYR. Well, his first, and last, sadly. He had no idea that the news was live on-air.Say Anything/YouTube Furthermore, the broadcast started off with Clemente using a lot of bad words while his co-anchor did her best to continue her report. When he finally realized they were live on-air, words stopped coming out of his mouth, and he got really sick. The only words he was able to get out of his mouth were a jumble of word soup!

Teleprompter Trickery

Some anchors get so into their job that they’ll read anything from the teleprompter.  So, it’s very important to hire good teleprompter writers and editors. Otherwise, new anchors might end up reading something incredibly embarrassing. While this Alabama anchor did not read something embarrassing, bad teleprompter writing did one of the biggest surprises of her life.BestNews24/YouTube You see, the anchor accidentally ended up reading her own marriage proposal on-air! Yes, that’s right. Under the excuse of receiving breaking news, she read that she was being proposed to. Luckily for the guy, she said yes! Afterward, the weatherman reported that there would be a “100 percent chance of some tears of joy tonight.”

Polar Plunge

CTV News Toronto meteorologist Tom Brown decided to take a break from the green screen forecast for a segment that involved feeding pumpkins to Polar Bears at the local zoo. It seemed like everything was going well as Brown started throwing the orange squashes from a perch above the polar bears’ pool enclosure.Josh McConnell/YouTube Meanwhile, the camera panned back and forth between the excited bear and excited Brown. Furthermore, two pumpkins successfully splashed into the water before he threw the third and final one along with an additional object – his microphone! Yes, that’s right. Then, he was seen hilariously, yet silently, gesturing to the studio.

Wait, Where Are You Going?

Sometimes, the reason why certain news bloopers happen to remain a mystery forever. Like when, in the middle of a live interview with ESPN’s Hannah Storm, Nation Cowboys reporter Todd Archer simply walked off the air!USA Today Of course, Storm, like the professional she is, handled the situation like a pro, and calmy went to commercial. Afterward, she even had a good laugh, even tweeting, “Where in the world is Todd???” Meanwhile, Archer has never addressed the segment – maybe he assumed the segment was over? Or perhaps Storm’s question about Tony Romo’s retirement offended him? We’ll never know! Just goes to show you: with live television, anything can happen!

Rebecca Hall Cusses Out Vin Scully

Sometimes, we’ve just had enough of our coworkers! Like KTLA sports anchor Rebecca Hall. In 2012, during an interview with legendary Dodgers’ announcer Vic Scully, she blurted out, “Come on, Vin. Get your **** together.” Of course, the anchor immediately tried to back peddle, saying, “Get your stuff together. That’s what I meant to say,” but the damage was already done!KTLA Thankfully, Hall was joking, actually ribbing Scully for being such an overachiever! As it turns out, it was the announcer’s 64th season sitting in the announcer’s booth. Regardless, KTLA News execs prompted YouTube to remove videos of the incident.

One Fun Ride

If you’re a news reporter working at a local affiliate, then there’s a good chance you’ll be the network’s guinea pig for hands-on reviews. If you don’t believe us, just ask Corey James. This time around, working in the field meant that t James needed to test out Disneyland’s brand new Guardians of the Galaxy drop coaster.Trendchaser As you can see, during the ride, James screamed like the world was about to end and nearly passed out, all while provided entertainment for the viewers. In fact, the anchor’s reaction might be more entertaining than the actual ride or the movies!

Who’s A Good Boy?

You think working at home with kids is hard? Try doing it with pets! Paul Dellegatto, the chief meteorologist for FOX 13 in Tampa Bay, was doing his at-home forecast when his dog, Brody, decided to earn his 15 minutes of fame!FOX 13 First, Brody “whacked the computer with his head,” preventing Dellagatto from showing any weather maps. “Let me just verbalize the forecast,” he continued, before calmly chastising Brody. “That wasn’t very smart.” From there, Dellagatto had to get into the nuts and bolts of what viewers could expect from the weather, all while Brody sat right in front of him. How adorable!

A Microphone? Or A Turkey Leg?

The rush of live performance can make it hard to even know what you hold in your own two hands. Thankfully, if a news reporter forgets to turn on a mic or hold one in their hands, there’s usually a back up on their lapel to catch what they’re saying. However, for WBAL TV’s Lisa Robinson, nothing could help her when she held a microphone in one hand and a turkey leg in the other…WBALTV While covering the Maryland State Fair, Robinson forgot which hand held which and lost track, to both her and the viewers’ delight, holding up the turkey leg and talking into it. Fortunately, Robinson didn’t take the incident too seriously, laughing it off and continuing with her segment.

Grumpy Cat Wins Again

When Australia Today’s host Karl Stefanovic needed to interview the insanely popular Grumpy Cat, he knew it would be quite the challenge as the subject couldn’t speak. But despite the cat’s inability to speak, Stefanovic kept asking Grumpy question after question. He began by asking the feline of Monday was her favorite day of the week, but got no response.Australia Today Eventually, Stefanovic couldn’t take her silence and famous face staring back at him. Stefanovic broke into fits of laughter – as any sane person would – before saying, “Look at the cat, she looks like Jabba the Hutt.” Once again, Grumpy Cat proved why she’s the internet’s Queen!

Two Dead Found Dead

For those not in the know, graphics for live news tend to be created on the fly, leaving plenty of room for human errors to sneak. This reporter was covering a tragic and shocking story when a glaring graphic typo appeared alongside her sad report. Apparently, the two people that were dead were also found dead.Trendchaser Still, to be fair to the designer responsible for this graphic, some people are found alive and then die at a later time. Thankfully, the friendly reporter couldn’t see the attached error and carried on with the segment as if nothing had occurred. Well done!
