7. Two Solid Silver Kiwis
As a gift, Princess Margaret
From: New Zealand; estimated value: $66,000*
Elizabeth II’s younger sister, Princess Margaret, married photographer Anthony Armstrong-Jones in 1960. The Commonwealth nations all sent the newlyweds their most magnificent gifts as a token of their best wishes. New Zealanders sent along a pair of solid silver kiwis, one with an egg between its legs.

Princess Margaret sadly passed away in 2002. The kiwis were put up for auction in London four years later, with all earnings going to charitable causes. Antiquarian dealers were taken aback when the objects sold for $66,000 when it was anticipated that they would fetch less than $1,000.
