10. Empty Lot On A Private Island
As a gift, Princess Margaret
From Colin Tennant, a gift
Estimated Value: $21,000 per week for a stay* Princess Margaret received an enduring present for her marriage to the Earl of Snowden from British aristocrat and socialite Colin Tennant. Tennant gave a Mustique plot to the royal couple; his wife was Princess Margaret’s lady-in-waiting. The private island tract in Grenadian was two square miles in size.

Tennant had bought it two years prior to Princess Margaret’s wedding, so it was vacant, and he had done nothing with it. The Princess developed the area into Les Jolies Eaux, or “The Beautiful Waters,” a private villa that rents for $21,000 a week after receiving the land.
