In collaboration with Kraus-Maffei Wegmann, Dutch Defense Vehicle Systems produced the 4WD armored recon vehicle known as the Fennek. Turkey’s vehicle is made by FNSS Defense, the other producer. Fenneks have taken the place of the German and Royal Netherlands Army’s four-wheeled reconnaissance vehicles.

With its Deutz diesel engine, the Fennek can reach a top speed of 71.4 mph. The Rheinmetall MG3, a Rafael Spike anti-tank missile, a 12.7mm machine gun, and other weaponry can be installed on the Fennek. The vehicle has baseline protection against 7.62mm bullets and can add more armor if needed.
