The U.S. Army and Marine Corps utilize the L-ATV Joint Light Tactical Vehicle, or JLTV, as a partial replacement for the venerable Humvee. Compared to the Humvee, the JLTV can withstand more damage and carry a larger cargo. In 2006, the vehicle program’s preliminary research got underway, and Oshkosh Defense was chosen to construct the facility.

Pretty much whatever mission you throw at the JLTV, including utility, command and control, ambulance, recon, and armament carrying, it can handle it. According to the U.S. Army’s Long-Term Armor Strategy, the JLTV features two layers of armor protection.
