Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., Defense Land Systems, and BAE Systems manufacture the Mahindra Mine-Protected Vehicle, an armored personnel carrier. It was the first car produced by this partnership. The car is an upgraded version of the Casspir from South Africa. The MPV-I was built for rough terrain, including hills and forests.

It has a 6×6 gearbox and a 230-horsepower diesel engine. The MPV-I’s V-shaped hull provides protection from ballistic missiles and land mines. Because of the steel monocoque construction of the hull, the explosion is deflected away from the occupants of the vehicle. Under either of its wheels, the MPV-I is resistant to explosions weighing more than 46 pounds of TNT.
