How to Towel-Test for Fleas
Usually, dogs itch themselves somewhat regularly. On the other hand, you should definitely check to determine whether your dog has fleas if you find it itching itself constantly over a few days. Particularly if your dog has a thick and/or dark coat, fleas are quite little and can be rather tough to find. If so, as you groom its coat, have your dog lie on its side on a white towel. On a white background, fleas dropped from your dog will be more easily seen.
Frequent coat check for your dog is a good suggestion since early flea detection is better. Unchecked a flea infestation can seriously affect your furball’s health; the longer the fleas go unnoticed, the more difficult it will be for doctors to remedy the issue.
