Elevate Food and Water Bowls
Although most dog owners just set feeding bowls on the ground, there are certain advantages to occasionally lifting them somewhat above ground. An elevated bowl will be closer to your dog’s mouth, thereby perhaps reducing strain on their neck and/or limb joints during eating. Older canines with limited movement and larger dogs particularly need this. Secured dishes raised above can also help to reduce the mess a dog might produce by dragging its bowl across the floor.

You can choose to simply boost the height of your bowls by stacking them on boxes you don’t need, or you might choose to invest in a specifically-designed, raised feeding bowl stand.
