Use Essential Oils
Generally speaking, veterinarians advise that an adult dog should be bathed every four weeks to maintain clean and healthy skin and coat. After a month, though, an unpleasant dog smell can truly start to stick to your furniture—couch, bed, etc.). Combine one cup of baking soda with about fifteen drops of lavender oil to keep your house smelling fresh in between dog shampoos. Next cover your sofas, mattresses, carpets, etc. with baking soda. Let it rest overnight then hoover it first thing in morning.

Should lavender not be your preferred aroma, you could be able to substitute alternative essential oils. Before you start using your chosen essential oil in your house, just make sure your veterinarian agrees it is safe for dogs.
