Your Dog Would Love This DIY Toy

For any dog owner, a flirt pole—basically a long stick with rope—is absolutely essential. It is also a toy. It’s a terrific technique to exercise your dog in a limited area and lets your dog follow the “lure” attached to the end play into their natural hunting impulses. But given how simple one may create at home, why would one buy one? First cut a PVC pipe down to roughly four feet. Then insert a long, thin piece of rope into the pipe and knot securely at one end of the rope sticking out.

Tie a basic dog toy—such as braided, reused clothing—into the end of the rope to create magic. Your dog can chase around your cheap flirt pole till it tires out.
