Discover the History, Culture, and Global Reach of Motorcycle Clubs
The origins of outlaw motorcycle clubs (MCs) can be traced back to the United States’ post-World War II period. These clubs, which were started by returning soldiers looking for companionship, have developed into a wide range of international organizations.
This article explores the background and customs of MCs, highlighting their global appeal. You will learn about the distinctive histories of these groups and how they have impacted different areas.
1. Bacchus MC

Established in: 1972
Financial Information: Apparently, $200 a month in dues for membership
One of the oldest motorcycle clubs in the entire world is the Bacchus MC. The Roman incarnation of Dionysus, the Greek deity of women, wine, and singing, is referenced in the name of the creature, Bacchus.
Twitter users: Bacchus MC, @bacchus-mc
Bacchus is the third-biggest biker gang in Canada; therefore, its impact is widespread. Its membership has climbed to about 200 individuals, a significant increase from previous years, and its impact in Canada has grown. Since the gang’s founding in a remote part of Canada, a lot has happened.
2. The Grim Reapers
Established in: 1965
Financial Details: Unverified
The Grim Reapers are primarily known in the Southeastern region of the United States and are based in Louisville, Kentucky. The Grim Reapers first appeared in the Southern scene in 1965. The club gained popularity swiftly. Chapters in Indiana, Illinois, and Tennessee appeared by the middle of the 1970s.

It is obvious that the club only allows members who ride Harley-Davidsons, as the Hells Angels are its main ally. As for adversaries, the Grim Reapers consider the Kings Crew, Rebels, Outcasts, Warlords, and RCMP among their foes.
3. The Road Runners
Established in: 1978
Financial Information: A ticket to one of their rallies costs $12 per person.
The MC is one of the oldest in Poland, and the Road Runners had their beginnings there as the “Veteran Club.” Even though he went away in 2005, Miroslaw Miro Stefanczyk, a legend in Poland’s rocker and biker scenes, formed the club.

Stefanczyk had a major role in the formation and development of the scene, and rockers from all over the world, including Road Runners and members of other gangs, came to his funeral.

The Lancaster, Pennsylvania-based Sons of Satan MC was established in 1949. The biker gang, sometimes known as merely “The Sons,” serves as the Pagans’ support group. Remarkably, the Sons were originally a family-oriented club that was started by WWII veterans who were returning from war.

In the 1960s, John “Satan” Marron—who would go on to become the President of the Pagans—was the one who transformed the Sons into a criminal gang. The Sons gained notoriety for their fierce rivalry with other gangs, particularly their brief conflict with the Pagans.

These tyrants have a history of becoming involved with any gang that comes their way, including the Mongols. Maybe the reason Brother Speed’s name is so well-known is because of their rivalry with the Mongols.
7. The Coffin Cheaters
Founded in 1970
Financial Details: Unverified
The Daily Telegraph listed the Coffin Cheaters as one of the “most dominant biker gangs” in all of Australia. They were founded in Perth in 1970 and are fierce rivals of the Finks MC, who are also included on this list.

The first Australian gang to go global was the Coffin Cheaters. The Coffin Cheaters refer to the Hells Angels as their allies when discussing their relationship with other gangs. The 1%’er gang is well-versed in the law; they copyrighted their logo years ago to prevent it from being used or duplicated.
8. The Phantom Outlaws
Founded in 1969
Financial Details: Unverified
In 1969, the Phantom Outlaw MC was founded in Chicago. More recently, it has partnered with the Vice Lords, another Chicago-based group. The Phantoms are a mostly black gang, and the majority of them drive Harleys and other motorcycles.

Some of the Phantoms are actually simultaneously pledged to the MC and the Vice Lords. Compared to other groups of the same kind, the criminal gang is much more low-key on social media.
9. El Forastero
Established in 1962
Financial Details: Unverified
After the club was rejected to become a chapter of the Satan Slaves MC, El Forastero was established in 1962. The EFMC, which stands for “The Foreign,” got its name from a piece of literature that cowboys entering Mexican territory were known for in the Old West.
Media sites report that El Forastero’s bikers range in age from fifty-one to sixty on average. Despite this, the club continues to rule in places like Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Sioux City, Iowa.

The Vagos also wear patches with the number twenty-two, which is a reference to the alphabet’s twenty-second letter, “V,” in addition to their Loki emblem. Upon successful completion of a probationary period and certification by higher-ups in the gang, you can also receive a ‘Motorcycle Family’ patch.
