In 1996, the Coyote was initially deployed as a scout. Two NATO C6 machine guns and a 25x137mm M232 Bushmaster chain cannon are mounted on the non-amphibious armored recon vehicle. The Coyote can be equipped with a package to defend against heavy artillery, and the carrier is already shielded from chemical, biological, and radiological attacks. The carrier is equipped with an NBC breathing system to expel chemicals in the event of an assault.
