The Armored Vehicle Development Center in China and General Dynamics collaborated to develop the 1990 Main Battle Tank, known as the CM-11 Brave Tiger. In essence, the CM-11 is an M60 hybrid chassis with an earlier M48 Patton’s turret installed on it.

It also features an M1 Abrams fire control system. This was named the Brave Tiger by the Republic of China because tigers play a significant role in Chinese mythology and history. The NATO M240 machine gun and a.50 BMG M2 Browning are mounted on the 50-ton combat tank.
