Jim Carrey went to a religious school and was raised in a Catholic household. His family faced severe financial troubles after his father lost his job. Jim worked eight hours a day after school to support his family. He turned inward and withdrawn. He left school when he was sixteen and relocated to Toronto in order to pursue a career in comedy. He became successful after storming comedy clubs’ stages. The young actor provided for his family, even relocating them briefly to Los Angeles.
