An amazing work of land art that crosses conventional border markers may be seen on the Poland-Ukraine border. An enormous “crop circle” fish, representing the unification of the two countries, was created by artist Jaroslaw Koziara on a plot of farmland.

This live artwork, which was made for the Land Art Festival in 2011, illustrates the peaceful relationship between creativity and agriculture by straddling the borders between Horodyszcze, Poland, and Warez, Ukraine. Koziara’s fish turned the border into a canvas that honours harmony, cooperation, and the meeting point of art and nature by planting various plant species that became visible from the sky.
