The Warner Brothers Corset Factory, situated in Bridgeport, Connecticut, launched a new chapter in the history of corset production. Doctors started to realize in the 1800s that the tight, torso-constricting corsets were having a negative impact on women’s health. In the late 1800s, Warner Brothers introduced a useful, flexible corset that soon shot to the top of the sales charts.

The corset factory produced 6,000 corsets a day at its busiest. It also established a school for its employees and made arrangements for free housing for them. Unfortunately, Warner Brothers shuttered when corsets lost popularity, and the once-ahead-of-its-time manufacturing is now a thing of the past.
