The highway networks in Jacksonville, Florida, are the cause of the closure. I-95 and I-10 intersected Annie Lytle only a hundred feet apart—not exactly the best location for a school, having been built in the 1950s. The sound of traffic on the highway drowned out the classes on the second level, making the elementary school remote and difficult to get to. Annie Lytle eventually had to close its doors.
