This is one of the more creative things we’ve seen done with an abandoned structure. An oil rig that has been retired called the See Monster is presently being transformed into a green art piece. It’s going to be one of the biggest art installations in the UK. The See Monster is proof that beauty can be created even from an old, rusted industrial monster.

The enormous platform was housed in a Dutch shipyard for a full year prior to the rig’s decommissioning. It is currently being disassembled, cleaned, and fixed in order to turn it into an artistic endeavor akin to an oasis. Hundreds of people gathered to see its relocation from the water to the beach when it was moved from off the coast of Southeast England. It took the enormous crane three breathtaking hours to hoist the See Monster to its new residence.
