9. Hybrid Acoustic-Optical Detection System (HAODS)
Combining modern optical sensor technologies with conventional acoustic detection techniques, the HAODS generates a complete underwater surveillance system. Especially in littoral areas where conventional sonar systems sometimes struggle, this novel technique allows excellent target identification and categorization in many environmental situations. The sophisticated signal processing techniques of the system may combine data from optical and audio sensors, therefore giving operators highly detailed target information. Its adaptive filtering guarantees efficient operation even in loud or highly crowded underwater conditions.
