Though not strictly unlawful, as the manufacturer likely knows, the packaging on this Colgate Value 3-Pack is still a little dubious. Technically, it didn’t state that the extra had to be the same size as the others. A 2-and-a-Half-Pack is more like the Value 3-Pack.

Colgate Whitening Toothpaste comes in two full-size, standard tubes and a third that is more akin to a half-tube. The purpose of the packing was to conceal the extra tube’s modest length under a cardboard box. It’s very obvious from that extra step that the Colgate con artists knew exactly what they were doing.
