Although Turkmenistan’s average salary may be low, living there is still not the most expensive place in the world. The average cost of living in the nation rises to $2000 a month, nearly $1700 more than the average income, and it consistently ranks among the top 50 most expensive countries in the world.

However, one thing you won’t have to worry about is amusement, at least. Tickets for first-run films can be purchased for as little as one dollar, so you can attend the theater and find a seat quickly. Naturally, the locals’ low average income makes going to the movies seem like a luxury, so the affordable price won’t mean as much to them.
