A well-known powdered detergent called Spic and Span was advertised as being able to clean floors, dishes, and clothing. It bragged about how well it cleaned and how well it removed stubborn stains. The tagline for the company was “You’ve tried the rest; now try the best.”

Liquid detergents were eventually introduced by Spic and Span, but most people associate the 1960s with the orange and blue powdered detergent boxes. Children of the 1960s will always have a special place in their hearts for Spic and Span, despite its recent decline into obscurity.
