The governments of the six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries will receive a proportionate share of the $250 billion enormous bill for the Gulf Railway, depending on how much of the network will be in each nation. Once the project is completed, high-speed rail capable of reaching speeds of up to 136 mph would link all six Gulf nations.

The first line is expected to be finished and operating by 2023; however, the completion of the entire rail system is not anticipated to be completed before 2030 due to delays in the Bahrain-Saudi line construction that are expected to last until at least 2023 and Oman’s decision to pause their portion of the project.
