Put this one down to another misheard command. A customer placed an order for a “coffee with Baileys,” which is an homage to the traditional hot beverage made with Baileys Irish Cream liquor. It seems that the server misheard and brought the customer a coffee with two bay leaves, giving the order an unanticipated spicy twist.

Baileys Irish Cream, flavoured with cocoa, cream and Irish whisky, is a surefire winner, so this one had to be redone. While adding bay leaves to a pot of spaghetti sauce or stew is certainly wonderful, they just don’t have the same punch.
