At that time, Queen Alexandra’s Royal Committee decided they wanted to celebrate the Queen’s silver wedding anniversary with a unique event. The Committee, consisting of 354 aristocratic women, raised the necessary finances to have the Kokoshnik Tiara manufactured.

The sixty-one diamond bars that make up the Tiara are securely stored in the Queen’s jewellery vault. The sparkler is one of the most costly jewellery items owned by the Royal Family; it is almost a century old and worth between $6.5 million and $13 million.
