Consumer Reports tentatively rated the Edge at a 3/5, meaning that it is currently mediocrely reliable. The majority of owner complaints are related to the Ford Edge’s electrical system. On the other hand, the failure is usually rather severe when the gearbox fails. For comparison, the 2018 Nissan Murano is the Edge’s main rival.
