A supersonic fighter aircraft is the F-16 Fighting Falcon D. The A/B version had its first flight in January 1974 and is used in a variety of capacities. Following General Dynamics’ award of the contract, almost 4,600 of these aircraft have been constructed. The D is a two-seater that is a component of the Falcon C/D. The D was initially created in 1984.

Block 25 was the FF-D. Its radar and cockpit avionics were upgraded. In addition, it had BVR (beyond visual range) for all-weather performance. Depending on the method of calculation, the operational cost per flying hour of the C/D ranged from $7,000 to $24,000.
