The KC-46 Pegasus is an aerial refuelling aircraft, named after the winged horse of Greek mythology, most likely. It also transports military equipment strategically. Boeing created the Pegasus, which is partly based on its 767 jet airliner. Boeing was given the contract during the USAF’s KC-X tanker competition.

The Boeing-designed KC-135 Stratotanker was to be replaced by the Pegasus. One of the more recent aircraft on this list is the Pegasus, which was delivered in January 2019. By 2027, the US Air Force intends to acquire 179 Pegasus aircraft, which will come at a development cost of $241.2 million.
