Although these amusing small dolls were first produced in 1959, they didn’t become widely popular until the middle of the 1960s. The original Troll Dolls were constructed from a variety of materials, including wood, rubber, plastic, and felt. They were known as “Good Luck Trolls,” not “Treasure Trolls,” as most people now refer to them.

Usually standing two to three inches tall, they had brilliant eyes, colorful, fluffy hair, and happy faces. Stores all around the country carried Troll Dolls, and they were even offered in vending machines. The majority of children’s bedside tables were adorned with these dolls, who rose to fame in the 1960s toy industry thanks to their creative and joyful designs.
