46. Cat Tap Dancing

App Used: Midjourney (Possibly)
When AI goes wrong, it’s almost always a hilarious thing. In this case, the AI magician behind this photo series tried to showcase a cat tap-dancing. What they got in return was something hilariously weird.

What can you do? AI is right some of the time, particularly when it comes to photos. Even when a photo series is a miss, it still provides some much-needed comic relief and levity. Cats tap dancing…who knew?

47. Veggie Soup Spa

Credit: Unconfirmed
App Used: Midjourney (Possibly)
Sitting in a gigantic bowl of soup wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. After all, there are red wine and green tea spas in Japan. Surrounded by hot broth and floating vegetables could be relaxing, if such a thing existed.

Veggie Soup Spa @boredpanda/Pinterest
Alas, this spa concept is AI-only (in case you couldn’t tell from the botched hands). These two lovebirds are relaxing in a hot tub full of vitamins, minerals, and salty broth. It’s definitely a unique way to take a load off.

48. Spider-Man…Sort-Of

Credit: Unconfirmed
App Used: Midjourney (Possibly)
This AI fail came courtesy of someone trying to create cool Spider-Man pictures. Instead of successfully making the Marvel superhero, this was the result. It looks like Spider-Man…if he went through a horrifying transition.

Spider-Man…Sort-Of @boredpanda/Pinterest
The top photo is just a head with frog legs, while the bottom photo is a weird mass of muscles, limbs, and a strange suit. This would work if it was a Spider-Man from a horror movie dimension, perhaps.

49. AI Recreates American Gothic

Credit: Hyperallergic.com
App Used: DALL-E
Found on Hyperallergic, this photo series features famous paintings from world history recreated by AI. Here, you can see America Gothic with an AI spin, and the results are less than artistic.

AI Recreates American Gothic @hyperallergic/Pinterest
American Gothic was painted by a man named Grant Wood, who based his painting on a home in Eldon, Iowa. We have to wonder what Wood, who painted the work in 1930, would’ve thought of this AI recreation.

50. Ghost With A Pearl Earring

Credit: Hyperallergic.com
App Used: DALL-E
AI recreated Girl With A Pearl Earring, giving her a Corpse Bride, Evanescence-listening twist. Johannes Vermeer, the Dutch man who painted Pearl Earring in 1665, is probably rolling in his grave because of this remake.

You have to wonder what classic artists, such Vermeer, Leonardo Da Vinci, Pablo Picasso, and more would have thought of AI art. Would they have considered it legitimate? Or just a pale imitation of real talent?

51. Wiener Dogs Racing

Credit: Tony Henry
App Used: Midjourney (Possibly)
Dachshund Wiener Dogs are the cutest, short-legged animals on the planet, and this AI creation brought to life what would happen if they suddenly grew to a mega-size and became the shorter version of horses.

Wiener Dogs Racing @boredpanda/Pinterest
They’re still majestic, in their own way; that’s for sure. Dachshunds originated in Germany, and they were bred to hunt badgers and other burrow dwellers. Turning into racing hounds would be quite a leap for these short-legged pups.

52. Salmon In The River

Credit: r/196
App Used: Unconfirmed
According to Redditor r/196, the person who is credited for this AI image, the prompt for this bizarre picture was salmon in the river. While salmon does look like that, it also does not. This is a classic example of AI getting it wrong.

Salmon In The River @boredpanda/Pinterest
It’s majestic in its own way. Certainly, that salmon would go well on the grill with some teriyaki sauce and mixed veggies. Is AI wrong for this image? Sure, but it’s also not technically that incorrect, either.

53. A Cocky Expression

Credit: am_artkos
App Used: Midjourney
This abominable, rooster-like creature was supposed to be a man with a cocky expression, likely as a narrator for a story, but Midjourney turned it into a horrific half-human, half-peacock hybrid from a horror movie.

A Cocky Expression @boredpanda/Pinterest
If this isn’t a cursed AI image, then nothing is. Imagine seeing this creature as your sleep paralysis demon; you’d never sleep again. If AI is taking over the world, then it has a weird idea about what we humans look like.

54. AI’s Idea of Roller Skates

Credit: shweddyballs
App Used: Midjourney
Social media user schweddyballs (nice name, by the way) developed this photo, and his summation of it was that AI really needs to learn what roller skates are. This hilarious image shows that AI just doesn’t quite get the idea of roller skating.

AI’s Idea of Roller Skates @boredpanda/Pinterest
Which makes sense, considering it will never be able to experience the joy of cruising around a rink at high speeds, interrupted only by grabbing a slice of greasy pizza and Coke. It also never got to experience the big-hair era of the eighties.

55. Goose Gender Reveal Party

Credit: Lachlan
App Used: Midjourney (Possibly)
If you’re having a family event, the last thing you want is a goose there, hissing and pecking at everyone and stealing food. For some reason, AI thinks that human gender reveal parties involve geese.

Goose Gender Reveal Party @boredpanda/Pinterest
And deformed faces, too. Midjourney, the possible prompt here, got a bit confused with this one. A farting goose is not at these parties; usually, the worst that happens is someone starts a fire accidentally or pouts because their baby isn’t the gender they hoped for.

56. Doja Cat

Credit: Taylor Scott
App Used: Midjourney
Doja Cat has been a hot artist since 2019, with singles such as “Say So,” “Paint The Town Red,” and more. She started out making music on SoundCloud when she was a teen, and now, she’s a global superstar.

Doja Cat @boredpanda/Pinterest
This is AI’s version of Doja Cat, and it kinda looks…well…understandable. We all remember Doja Cat’s recent Met Gala look—this is just the updated, AI version that turns her into a human-feline hybrid.

57. House Made Out Of Cheese

Credit: aitriesart
App Used: Midjourney (Possibly)
Social media user @aitriesart asked AI to make her a house made out of cheese. As a result, she got a house that apparently is owned by cheese, judging from how the cheese is posed out front like they just got a key.

House Made Out Of Cheese @boredpanda/Pinterest
This is technically an AI fail, and it’s one of the meeker cursed AI images on this list. Still, it’s nice to think that AI believes cheese could one day own a house. We wonder what the cheddar’s credit score is.

58. No Hands

Credit: userposter
App Used: Midjourney
AI apps are notoriously bad at creating human hands. Some of their images look quite realistic and lifelike, but, when you look at the hands, it instantly gives away the fact that the photo was robot-created.

No Hands @boredpanda/Pinterest
This creator told AI to create a human with no hands, and this was the result. One of the reasons AI struggles to make hands is because they are such a small, intricate part of the human body (much like teeth and ears, with which AI also struggles).

59. Muscular Teapots

Credit: ArtReview (Source)
App Used: DALL-E
One interesting thing about AI is that it is skilled at showing us things that, otherwise, would not be. For example, did you ever think that the phrase “muscular teapot” existed? Thanks to DALL-E, it does.

Muscular Teapots @artreview/Pinterest
The AI took the phrase “muscular teapot” and turned it into these rather grotesque images, all of which feature teapots distorted by giant abdominal and arm muscles. This is one of the most random images on this list. And that’s saying something.

60. Sea Otter With A Pearl Earring

Credit: @openaidalle
App Used: DALL-E
Girl With A Pearl Earring, painted by Johannes Vermeer, is one of the most famous pieces of art of all time. Almost everyone recognizes it, even centuries later. In addition to being an iconic piece of art, the painting is also easy to manipulate.

Sea Otter With A Pearl Earring @openaidalle/Instagram.com
If you have AI, that is. For example, we have a sea otter painted in the style of Pearl Earring. He looks adorable and ethereal, and he even has a pearl earring and blue headscarf to complete the look.
