This infrequent, reflective moment between an endangered proboscis monkey and a wildlife photographer was probably captured by Fuji’s top-tier X-T3 camera system. These unusual monkeys, who are mostly found on the island of Borneo, are named for their unusual-looking yet incredibly helpful noses.

Given how few proboscis monkeys remain in the wild, this picture is even more amazing. These monkeys can survive in more than a dozen protected locations, but throughout the past 20 years, their population has been slowly declining globally.
