7.When You Have to Babysit Your Little Brother

This reminds me of many evenings spent awake watching our younger siblings. Not that we had any fun during those days, but they became sleepless nights since they wouldn’t go to bed or close their eyes. This image simply radiates that specific mood. Look at the dog; he seems to be simply bored with everything, and that is precisely how we felt back then. Good riddance for those times.
Anyone who has ever been assigned to keep an eye on a younger sister will recognise this precise mix: barely restrained frustration, weariness, and resignation. It’s the look you get when you tell them for the hundredth time that no, they cannot have another cookie, and indeed, it is bedtime. Being the temporary authority figure comes with great weight, particularly when all you want to do is lounge about or hang out with pals instead.
Alternatively, you may read this photo in quite a different way: maybe this dog is just really concerned on shielding the infant. Knowing what we mean, that also quite dog-like behaviour. Suddenly every little sound or movement becomes something to explore in that automatic protector mode. Though occasionally that vigilance comes with a tinge of frustration, the way the dog keeps that alert watch speaks to the deeper link between dogs and their human family members.
