This picture was taken in honor of Finland’s Independence Day by Mikko Lagerstedt. He gave an explanation for taking the picture, stating that the winter months in Finland are very short in terms of daylight. Nevertheless, Lagerstedt is unfazed, considering the season’s “beautiful subtle light” a reason to snap pictures in spite of the low temperatures.
