Queen Victoria received these exquisite pearl drop earrings hanging from diamonds as a present from her husband, Prince Albert, in 1842. The earrings were bequeathed by the Queen as a bequest to the Crown, “to be worn by future Queens in right of it,” when she passed away in 1901.

Even with their quite straightforward design, the Queen nevertheless finds them to be her favorite. Over the years, Queen Elizabeth II has worn the earrings numerous times. She has also been spotted wearing Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee necklace with the earrings.
