Another addition to the collection of Queen Elizabeth II as part of her inheritance from her very good friend, Lady Greville. These show stopping earrings combine several shapes of diamonds in such a way to create the effect of a chandelier.

The concept at the time of design was to combine every cut of diamond that existed at the time. The combination is so striking they have been a favorite of the Queen for many years. She has been photographed with the unique earrings many times, though less often in recent years.

102. Coronation Earrings

Designed to match the coronation necklace which consisted of 26 large diamonds. 25 in the necklace and one drop down stone, 22.48 carat Lahore Diamond. These were made for Queen Victoria in 1858 and the stones were taken from other jewels and repurposed.

The diamond drop down earrings don’t match perfectly, one is significantly larger than the other. The pear shaped stones are 7 and 12 carats and when looked at side by side it is quite easy to see that the shape is not quite the same. The Queen still wears this set today, and has been photographed many times with them.

103. Princess Andrew’s Meander Tiara

The eldest granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II and the only daughter of Princess Anne, Zara Tindall, wore this Cartier creation on her wedding day. The tiara was made in the early 1900’s and is a Greek Key tiara from her mother, Princess Anne’s collection.

Originally the tiara was owned by her paternal grandmother, Prince Phillip’s mother, Princess Andrew of Greece. It is often called Princess Andrew’s Meander tiara and is considered a rather modern design due to the geometric key shapes.

These beautiful pear drop earrings were passed down from Lady Greville, feature pentagonal tops, suspending an emerald shaped diamond and a large pear shaped drop. Pear shaped diamonds are very difficult to match and it is clear that these don’t match perfectly but they are magnificent nonetheless.

Weighing about 20 carats each, the beautiful earrings were worn by the beloved Lady Diana on her first trip to Australia. She paired them with the Spencer family tiara and looked just about as radiant as any diamond could be.

These beautiful pearl drop earrings are suspended from diamonds and were given to Queen Victoria as a gift from her husband Prince Albert in 1842. When the Queen passed in 1901, she left the earrings as an heirloom to the Crown, “to be worn by future Queens in right of it”.

Though the design is fairly simple, they are a favorite of the Queen to this day. Queen Elizabeth II has worn the earrings many times over the years, and has been pictured pairing them with Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee necklace.

The ruler of Bahrain in 1947, at the time of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip’s wedding, gifted the royal pair a shell containing seven large pearls. Two of those pearls were then used to create these stunning diamond and pearl drop-down earrings.

Featuring a round diamond along with four small diamonds, the composition is unique and the pair were seen on the Queen during the earlier days of her reign. Recently they were spotted on Sophie, Countess of Wessex as well as on the Duchess of Cambridge on Remembrance Day in 2016.

These are two separate necklaces which are worn together, though they each have their own clasps and their own stories. The smaller one is the Queen Anne necklace, composed of 46 pearls. The longer one is the Queen Caroline, which has 50 pearls.

The Queen wore these necklaces on her wedding day, though it almost didn’t work out for her when last minute they realized they were on display at St James’s Palace. The Queen’s private secretary volunteered to collect the jewels but due to traffic and congestion in the city he almost didn’t make it, famously sprinting with the pearls to the Queen right on time.

The two side stones are just under a carat each and they belonged to Prince Harry’s beloved mother, the late Princess Diana. Signifying that her presence will always be with them on their journey. The ring was later reset and redesigned by Harry, and now features a sleek gold band with small diamonds.

While the Queen has many pearls in her possession, she does still wear this beautiful matching set from time to time. According to The Court Jeweller, the last time she wore the Queen Caroline and Queen Anne necklaces was at an event outside Buckingham Palace in 2012.

She wore it often throughout her marriage as well as after her divorce. It has often been misquoted that she has two similar bracelets, one with a diamond and one with an aquamarine. In fact this is the same bracelet on opposite sides as the clasp is a diamond flower.
