Ostrich Racing
The first ostrich races took place in Jacksonville, Florida, USA, in 1890, marking the beginning of the sport. Even though many jockeys were injured when they fell from the ostriches or were attacked by the birds during the race, these events immediately became popular. This annual event is still carried out according to tradition.
