The nine emeralds that are set into the Delhi Durbar Necklace are much older, despite the necklace’s contemporary style. The Duchess of Cambridge, Princess Augusta of Hesse-Kassel, and Mary of Teck’s grandmother were the owners of them. Princess Augusta passed away in 1889, having been born in 1797.
