Boeing collaborated with its subsidiary McDonnell Douglas to develop the McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle. Its twin-engine tactical fighter aircraft is capable of flying in any kind of weather. The UAF examined numerous plans for a specialised air superiority fighter from top defence contractors back in the late 1960s.

It decided on the Boeing Co. layout. The implementation of the design took five years, from 1967 to 1972. One of the most effective modern jet fighters in the world, the F-15 Eagle has over 100 wins and 0 loses in air combat. The Israeli Air Force and the USAF both have a fondness for the F-15 Eagle.
