The United Kingdom’s relationship with snow is unique since major snowfall is a quite rare occurrence that usually causes the nation to be locked in stillness. While most people have the luxury of savouring these few snow days from the safety of their homes, vital personnel like police officers have to carry on their responsibilities independent of the temperature. Two imaginative policemen decided to maximise their break time by creating remarkably accurate snow copies of themselves during one such snowy change-of direction. From the precisely sculpted police uniforms complete with badges and equipment belts to the distinctive posture that exactly replics genuine police officers on duty, these snow officers exhibit really amazing attention to detail. To show both artistic ability and a great sense of humour, the snow sculptures even include little reproductions of their police radios and protective jackets. This lighthearted exhibition not only highlights the officers’ inventiveness but also helps humanise law enforcement by demonstrating that even while preserving public safety, they can still find times to welcome the delight that unplanned snowfall offers.
