Sealing a letter is a stylish method to extend an invitation. What happens if you don’t have any letter-sealing wax on hand? If you have a candle, you are in luck. After all, a wax seal is created by melting wax, pressing it onto a letter, then stamping it with a metal seal.

Remove small fragments of the old candle and melt them on the stove. Pour a small quantity (about half a dollar) and press it down with your seal. Allow it to cool. As an extra advantage, if you use a scented candle, your letter’s addressee will notice a pleasant scent when they receive your correspondence.
