An infantry carrier vehicle, or ICV, is what the Stryker is. It belongs to a line of 8×8 armored fighting vehicles that is partly based on the Canadian-made LAV III. It costs about $5 million for each unit. The Stryker’s broad computer support contributes to a decrease in friendly fire situations. In the field, each Stryker is able to track and readily distinguish between friendly and enemy vehicles. The bolt-on ceramic armor and high-hardness steel hull of the Stryker provide protection from a range of threats.
