Named for General Creighton Abrams, the Abrams boasts a number of innovative features, including Chobham composite armor, a multifuel turbine engine, separate ammunition storage in a blow-out chamber, a computerized fire control system, and WMD protection. The U.S. has used the tank in every combat situation since it entered service in the 1980s.
