1. Kids These Days Want the iPhone – When We Were Younger, We Just Wanted the Crayola 64

A big box of Crayola 64 was all we needed for a terrific time; coloring was pure delight with those sixty-four distinct colors of crayons. Recall staring at those exquisite hues, trying to choose which ones you would use for your scrawled masterpiece? Indeed, we do also. Not least of all, let’s not overlook the delight of the trustworthy built-in crayon sharpener, whereby every single child could develop a real passion from obtaining the ideal pointy tip.
Though back in our day we didn’t need any technology to keep us properly engaged in the crayon age, kids today desire elegant phones and tablets with unlimited apps and games. Our entrance to a universe of imagination and creation was the Crayola 64 box. From the blazing “Red Orange” to the enigmatic “Midnight Blue,” every crayon possessed an own personality. We would argue for hours over whether “Tickle Me Pink” would be ideal for our princess’s clothing or if “Macaroni and Cheese” was actually the ideal hue for our sun. Not to mention the excitement of receiving a brand-new box; that ideal, unspoiled combination of colors was breathtaking. The built-in sharpener revolutionized our ability to keep the ideal point for minute details in our masterpieces. Indeed, we might have eaten a crayon or two (admit it, you did too), but it was only incidental to the experience. Looking back, those basic crayons imparted lessons in color theory, fine motor skills, and the delight of making something from nothing that still apply today digitally.
