10. Mike Tice exchanges his Super Bowl tickets for cash.

The year that was fine: 2005
The maximum penalty amount is $100,000*.
Just like all the other players and coaches, Mike Tice, the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings, received two complimentary Super Bowl tickets in 2005, as per tradition. That year, only Tice decided to part with his tickets—but not to friends or family—because he had other arrangements to spend Super Bowl weekend there.

Tice went on to make money with his free league tickets. The league was clearly upset by Tice’s actions, and they made every effort to inform him of this. A $100,000 fine.
