Not all of the peculiar presents Queen Elizabeth II received came from catalogues; some were incredibly costly and came from the most esteemed sources across the globe. One of these was an exquisite brooch, tastefully nestled into the shape of a fern, that the President of Sri Lanka gratefully gifted to the Queen. It was made of sapphires and diamonds.

Certainly one-of-a-kind, the brooch was probably made expressly for the Queen. We do not know the precise cost of the present, but it must have been in the range of several thousand dollars.
